「 will i ever see you again? 」
- three months later -
tw // this chapter mildly mentions self-hatred
As another bell rings, another day goes by.
Another day of useless struggling and hoping.
For the past few months, I have been cluelessly walking from person to person, asking strange questions. It was no doubt my reputation was terrible.
And with Teru Minamoto, the 'prince' of the school, hating me with all his cold-blooded heart doesn't make it at all nicer. To add on, him being in and controlling my class as the student council president doesn't help either.
He's quite the bothersome character.
Every day, I would keep hoping and wishing my memories would magically reappear. But of course, they never do. It's just as the feeling where you've lost your keys, and you can't remember where you had placed them. Except, replace the keys with memories.
"Oi, Miyaharu," A voice echoes through the hallways, "there's a meeting today. You better not miss it."
I groan as I lightly slam my forehead onto my desk, unable to let out my stress in a school environment.
"Shut up, Minamoto. I'm trying to think."
"Ah, and let me guess," Teru replies with a smug grin, "You're going to ask me some questions like a lunatic again?"
"I-"
"What did you do again?" He continues, switching to a mocking tone, " 'Oh no! Where am I? Who am I? What are you doing here?' Why are there so many people?' And then you proceeded to-"
"Fine! I'll go, I'll go!" I yell, hoping he stops.
For a split second, Teru smiles, which takes me aback. But once again he gives me his usual frown.
"We're discussing some important matters today. I'll repeat it again: Don't miss it." He says as he proceeds to exit the classroom, leaving me be the only one left inside.
I sigh with relief. At last, he was gone.
I stare out the window, trying to focus again. The setting sun lights the room orange.
Wait...
The sun's setting already?
-
"I'm here!" I shout, rushing into the small classroom. I pause the take in a few breaths, then look up. "I'm..."
Everyone's already arrived. Staring at me.
"Ara, Kiku-chan, that's no good, isn't it..." The purple haired girl looks at me with a pitiful expression.
"Again?" Akane looks at me with a disgusted expression. "Ao-chan, don't frown like that. It'll put wrinkles on your cute face."
"Attention!" The student council president finally grabs everyone's attention. "Student council representatives for Class 1-A and 2-A are all here, yes? Then we shall begin."
I quickly take my seat besides Aoi, beckoning me to sit in the seat besides her.
"We all are aware of students disappearing, aren't we?"
