"ᶠˡᵒᵒᵈ ⁱᵗ ˡⁱᵏᵉ ᵃ ᵗⁱᵈᵃˡ ʷᵃᵛᵉ"

I felt the refreshing mid-summer air run its way through my hair as I sat down on the stairs. I could hear the loud music coming from inside; I decided to not pay any attention to it.

I closed my eyes for a few seconds in order to make all the noise appear at least a bit quiter, with success.
the second I opened them I could sense someone sitting next to me, which surprised me because I don't remember knowing anyone here so nobody could have a reason to. there was plenty more space.

As I slightly turn my head to take a peek of who is the person sitting there I realise that it's Mitchel, a good friend of mine.

"I thought you'd never notice" he says while looking at me with a grin on his face.

"Since when are you even here? I didn't notice you inside"

"I came by about 30 minutes ago or something..I saw you sitting alone outside" he responded while looking at the dark night-sky.

I nodded.

"Clinton is here too!" he looked back at me.

I have met his older brother a couple of times before, but I wouldn't say we're friends or anything. we barely talked so I'm not sure why he's telling me this.

"that's cool" I smiled a bit before I took a pack of cigarettes and a lighter out of my pocket.

Me and Mitchel talked about a lot in the next few minutes.

Life, Relationships, Parents, Friends
the typical stuff.

we decided to head back inside in order to get a drink, we seemed to be the only remotely sober ones here.

that needed to change.

we both took a cup and filled it with pured vodka. pretty simple.

Mitchel chugged it all down at once, it didn't surprise me, his tolerance is pretty high. yet he still managed to get drunk every weekend. the music was so loud I felt like I was sitting right next to a boombox that's just blasting music into my ear. mixed with the vodka it was almost hypnotic, in the worst way possible. I might have had a bit too much, I had to take a step back and lean angainst the counter. I might've just fallen over if I didn't. Mitchel noticed it and checked up on me. "you good?" he screamed over the music. I nodded and smiled in response. the next thing I saw is Mitchel dragging me into the crowd like a excited little child. I can't lie, I'd be pretty excited too if I heard my own music playing at a random party.

While I was weirdly standing in the middle of the crowd, Mitchel was busy pouring more of the vodka in his mouth while singing along to "Tidal Wave". most of the drink landed on his black shirt, which he didn't seem to care much about anyways.

I realised that I did look really out of place here so I decided to at least move a little to the beat. slowly moving my hips, and then eventually getting more confident with every move I made. Mitty stopped with his horrendous attempt to drink vodka while singing and looked at me. It indeed was a unusual sight for him, usually I'd only stand in the corner of the room, refusing to dance whatsoever.

Seeing me finally loosening up made him smile, so I gave him a little cheeky grin back. We continued to dance for quite a while. Both of us got visibly exhausted, it was four in the morning by the time we noticed eachothers tiredness. Without saying a single word we continued to make our way outside to his car.

He always gave me a ride home, even if he's too drunk to drive. I can't count how many times we almost got into a car accident because he wasn't paying enough attention to the road, luckily this time wasn't one of those.

He got me home relatively safe. I thanked him with a big hug and closed the car door behind me.
Now to the hard part, getting inside without my parents noticing me.

I thought to myself, "I could just try to be really quite.." but I'm sure that wouldn't work. I had to go through the window or else I'd be dead.

so there I went, climbing up the tree next to my room, almost breaking my neck and arm on the way up. I hated the feeling of wood against my bare skin..gives me sensory issues. I eventually made it to the top without falling off again. I pushed my window open and put one leg in, once again, almost breaking it. I practically jumped inside, making way too much noise already.

Once I was completely inside, I ran into the bathroom as quickly yet quietly as humanly possible.
I got changed into my pyjamas and folded my clothes. I ripped out about half my hair while trying to brush the hairspray out of if..the usual. The only thing left to do is brushing my teeth, so I squeezed some toothpaste on my toothbrush and began brushing them.
after about 3 minutes I spat it out, took my clothes and made my way back into my room.
I practically fell on my bed, the warm and comforting feeling of my pink silk blanket and my black silk sheets greeted me in the best way.

I turned my head to the side
"what a night"
