A/N: It's finally here! Welcome to the story, I hope you enjoy it. Also, this story follows the main plot very loosely since an exact timeline of BNHA doesn't exist. This fic won't be long, probably somewhere between 10 to 15 chapters.
What is love? That's the question that would always pop up in Camie's head. Ever since she was a kid, she would watch TV shows saying that love was the best feeling in the world and that it was magical. Even some movies about Heroes would portray how love triumphs all. Yet here Camie was, almost an adult yet she hadn't felt a thing close to love in her entire life.
She watched all her friends have boyfriends and say they love each other but she'd never felt the feeling herself. They would say that she would fall in love soon enough, but it never happened. Camie had started to think that she was aromantic.
Not to say that she didn't have any experience with dating before. She was a very beautiful person and had gotten confessions before, the people that confessed to her would always say something like "Please go out with me, I love you!" And Camie couldn't ever say she felt the same. So out of curiosity, she accepted some of the confessions, telling them that she didn't feel the same, but she would try her best, and that seemed to be enough for them. Though she found out that trying to be in a relationship when you didn't feel the same way wasn't easy nor good.
All of the relationships she'd been in failed due to her lack of being able to genuinely be affectionate. No matter what it was, kisses, hugs, and everything in between, it was never enough. Eventually, the guys she had dated decided to give up, leaving Camie alone once again. She didn't blame them though, because she probably would've done the same thing if she was in their situation. It all came down to expressing her love that ended up breaking each of her relationships.
Camie had heard that there were many ways to express your love, one of them is kissing, so that's what she tried. The few people she had dated kissed in a variety of ways. Some aggressive, some passionate, some nervous, and she did her best to respond to each kiss with something. But despite her efforts, nothing worked. Another way to express your love to someone was sex, though Camie wasn't ready for that. She also didn't want her first time to be for the reason of trying to fall in love. Thus Camie decided to give up on love, believing that she would never feel in love nor would she ever find that special someone.
To say that she was fine with not being able to fall in love would be an overstatement. Once all of her relationships had failed, Camie acted fine, but once she was alone, she couldn't help but let tears fall. Everyone around her knew what it felt like to fall in love but her and there was no one that she could relate to. It made her feel alone and isolated.
But there was still one thing that she could do, pretend. She would pretend that she knew what love felt like to not feel alone. After all, she couldn't go anywhere without seeing a couple, even her parents would occasionally ask if she had found someone she was interested in. It was ironic how she was basically casting an illusion on her personality, just like her quirk could form illusions.
Fortunately for her, she no longer had to pretend once she started to attend Shiketsu High School, as it didn't allow for relationships between students. Even so, it didn't stop some people from engaging in relationships anyway, they just had to hide it well enough.
The students could still date people that didn't attend Shiketsu, so Camie could never get away from the influence of love. This continued up until the end of her second year, which was when she met him.
It had been a month after the events of the Provisional Hero License Exam, which she couldn't even remember attending, so she had to take a remedial course to get her Provisional License. Anyways, Camie and the rest of her classmates were about 3 months from becoming 3rd years, so the staff of Shiketsu decided to give them a break. Starting today, students would be given a 1-month break.
Camie had already decided that she was going to spend her break in Musutafu with her Aunt, thinking that she needed a change of pace. That's actually where she was headed right now. As she contemplated her situation, she was on a train headed to the previously mentioned city, Musutafu.

This was mostly the same for U.A as well. The staff concluded that the first years of the hero course had been exposed to too much action, especially 1-A. They had been attacked by the League of Villians on two separate occasions, and one of the students had even been kidnapped, all before they even became second years. Therefore, principal Nezu along with the staff decided to give the first-years a much-needed break.
Izuku wasn't planning to do anything special during the break, he could always practice control over his quirk, but even that got boring at times. So, he'd just relax and read some Hero manga. They were given the choice to go and stay with their families over the break, some did, but most stayed in the dorms. It was as if they had formed their own family there, and Izuku liked being there. After all, it was his first time having friends.
That aside, Izuku was currently on his way to a bookstore that sold the manga he liked so much. Class had ended an hour ago and he really wanted to get the new chapter of "All Might and His Heroic Adventures!". The last chapter he read had left off when a woman All Might had saved confessed to him, which Izuku found a bit weird.
He hoped it wasn't common for civilians to confess to Heroes. As flattered as he would be, he didn't have enough time to engage in a relationship. He was too busy putting that time into becoming a Hero. He didn't know how people managed to balance the two, plus, what would anyone see in someone as plain as him anyway?
It's not like he never had a crush on a girl before, he'd indeed felt some feelings for a girl once or twice in his life. Those feelings were always short-lived, however, as Izuku never had the time nor confidence to stay focused on someone in that way. He was also afraid that his former tormenters would find out one way or another because god forbid that happen. Furthermore, he didn't know the first thing in regards to relationships, since he was never too interested in romance. But his mind was digressing from its original thought, Hero manga, which he found relaxing.
He found them relaxing because they were easy to read, the art was fantastic, and it always reminded him of the current progression of his dream, which he was very proud of. By the time he was done thinking, he was already in front of the bookstore. The owner smiled at him as he walked in. He was a frequent customer of the store that the owner knew his face and what he was here for. The two had never had an actual conversation, but every time he bought a Manga, they were always related to heroes. It didn't take Izuku long to find what he was looking for and pay for it, and soon enough, he was already out of the store and headed to the dorms.
Izuku felt a bit thirsty, so he decided that he'd go to a nearby convenience store to grab something to drink, though he would be shocked at what, or rather who he would find there.

By now, Camie was already off of the train and discovered that all of the time she spent thinking had made her hungry. So she came to the decision of going to the nearest convenience store for a snack.
The trip took longer than she expected, she obviously hadn't been to Musutafu for a while, but nonetheless, she got there. As she walked into the store, she noticed that there were nearly no other people inside the store, save for one person with green hair. Everything was completely normal until the guy with green hair saw her.
Camie was behind him, waiting for him to finish paying for his item and once he was done and turned around, he had a look of absolute shock on his face. She was confused, was there something on her face, did he know her? Her suspicions were confirmed as he heard him say her name.
"...Camie?" He said quietly, though she still heard it.
As he stared at her, Camie had one thought running through her mind.
Who was this person? And why had he looked at her like he'd seen her before?
