Vector was lonely. After being stuck on the moon for so long, there was only so much he could do to entertain himself. He had built his moon base and tried to find a way to escape the moon, but it was hopeless. He was to be stuck on the moon forever.

Deku sighed as he collapsed on his bed from exhaustion. Being in UA and constantly giving it his all was starting to take a toll on his mental health. Especially being in the dorms with Kacchan.
Deku had been crushing on Kacchan since third grade, and after years of constant rejection and abuse, his love for Kacchan was drained.
The problem was, after years of knowing only abusive Kacchan, Kacchan, Kacchan, Deku didn't know how to love another human being.
He was mentally drained, and looking for a quick escape.
That might be why he said yes when Elon Musk asked him if he wanted to go to the moon.

Elon explained to Izuku that he had an extra seat in his new spaceship and thought it would be great for both of their marketing if Deku took that spot.
Deku reluctantly agreed, and so it was done.
Midoriya was going to space.
