Maddie soon woke up to the sound of police sirens as she lazily put on a worn out brown-colored sweater. She wondered what kind of crime would be outside her door this time, but did not wonder a much as she usually does anymore. she wakes up to police sirens almost every day. Maddie walked into the small kitchen she had in her apartment. she had noticed her brother's room was unusually quiet, after all he did always come home in the middle of the night doing "things", and was probably blacked out sleeping. Maddie ignored the unusual silence besides the police cars blaring sound that had gotten annoying. So Maddie finally started walking out her door to see what had happened. she was outside and saw a crowd of people around police tape. Maddie couldn't see what so ever and eagerly wanted to see so she got closer. she pushed people through the crowd and saw a dead body. fly's all around it and three gun shot wounds to the stomach. she couldn't see the face so got at a better angle. Once she saw the face she stared. she stared and put her hand over her mouth. Maddie had started to silently cry. the tears tickled her face as they went down her cheeks. she did not care, she was pale as a wooden board. it was her brother. Her brother, the brother that had been paying rent, earning money, and had a successful life overall. Maddie still staring at the eyes of her brother that stared back. The sadness in his eye made maddie want to break down on her knees and start to bawl. but no, she just stared. After a minute, a police officer walks up to maddie, NI
"Do you know this man?" asked the officer
"wha- what?" asked maddie still zoned out looking at her brother.
"Do you know this man?' Asked the officer again
"ye-yes officer" stutters maddie
The police officer wave for maddie to come in the police car with her. she walks to the car with her arms and legs in shock.
"where are we going now?' finally getting a hold of her speech
"you are going to the police department for questioning" said the officer firmly
"am i in trouble?!?" whimperingly asked maddie
"We don't know that yet so that's why we are going for questioning" said the officer annoyed
maddie sat in the car with i long period of silence until she got the department. she walked with the officer that she was with in the car to the questioning room and was questioned by another officer.
she sat down in a well lit room with a not so happy looking person sitting in a chair. Maddie sat down in a small chair and the door behind her shut. the man pulled out a yellow file and took out a photo, he layed it down on the table. It was a picture of her brother's corpse. she closed her eyes and looked to the side, her eyes watered but she resisted the sadness and looked at the man and sternly
said,"yes, yes i do, he's my brother."
the man asked "do you know any of his were abouts or why he was killed?"
"NO!!!! *crys* ....... he was a good man..."
"so your not aware of hes drug abuse?" he asked
"wha-what??" she asked
"yes, drug abuse and selling."
there was a long period of silence. this was immensity interrupted but another police officer who walked in and waved on the the man. The man stared at Maddie for a brief moment as if she was the killer and walked out with the other police officer and was there for half an hour by herself which gave her time to think. Why had he looked at me like that?? Are they going to arrest me?? This stressed out Maddie so much she began to cry. A moment later a police officer walks in and asks her to come with him outside to take her home. Maddie then was flooded with relief and gets up and walks over with him still shaking in shock. Maddie sitting in the front seat of the car begins to fall asleep due to so much shock she needed to rest.....
