"What? We can't be!" said Ryan as he spun around and grabbed the door handle.
He rattled it a few times before he accepted the truth: we were trapped in this room. Cory turned around and looked at me in fear.
"What are we gonna do?" she whispered.
"We could try making an announcement, this is where the speaker is" I pointed out. Ryan seemed to calm at the idea of this. He started to busy himself figuring out how to work the system.

We sat on the floor in silence until he told us that he had figured it out.
"Ready?" he asked, finger positioned over the button. He pushed down. An awful, high pitched noise emitted from the speakers. Cory and I clapped our hands over our ears. Ryan quickly turned the speaker off.

"What was that?" I gasped.
"The killer must have disconnected the system or something" Ryan says fearfully.
"We'll just have to find another way to get out then," I said confidently.
Ryan banged on the door a few times, whether to make noise or break it down I'm not sure.
"I'm sure they'll come find us soon." Cory reassured him.
"Guys, remember what the killer said about wanting Cabin 9?" I said after a while.
"Yeah" Cory replied.
"While we're here, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to...you know, look around, see what he meant" I told them.
"No!" Ryan shouted suddenly, startling us.
"I mean, we should just leave this to the counsellors to figure out. It could be dangerous poking around" he said. I frowned.
"Ryan, we're the only people in here. Nobody will know, and how are we supposed to 'give' the killer cabin 9 anyways?" I asked. He slumped down against the wall, shaking his head.
"Whatever" he said. I turned to Cory.
"Why don't you look in the computer, and I'll check the filing cabinet" I suggested. She nodded, and we got to work.
The first thing I saw were the counsellor files. I felt a pang as I saw Amalia Lutton's. I opened it and saw a picture of her smiling. Then there were her application, resumé and other papers. I closed the file, and flicked through a few others. There wasn't really that much to be found.

"Avery, come look at this," Cory whispered after a while. She was holding an old copy of some book. It was falling apart and the cover was so faded that I couldn't read the title. The book, however, is not what she wished to show me. She flipped it open to reveal an old newspaper clipping someone had been using as a bookmark.

"Wow, Cory, I think you actually found something" I told her excitedly.
Just then, the door burst open. I hastily dropped the book and clipping. Ryan jumped to his feet. In the doorway stood Lucy and Ben.
"Oh thank God you three are okay, we've been looking all over for you" said Ben. I could see the relief in his face. He probably thought that we had become the killer's next targets.
"Come on, let's go." Lucy said, and we exited the office.
"What was with that newspaper clipping?" Cory said to me anxiously.
"I don't know, I didn't get to read it." I muttered back.
There was now a curiosity gnawing inside of me. I needed to read that article. Maybe it had something to do with the killer's obsession with Cabin 9. And the name mentioned in the title...Samson. It sounded so familiar. All I needed was a minute in the office and I could get the clipping. But with all the strict rules, even a minute alone was gonna be hard to get.

After dinner, each cabin cleared their table and pushed it up against the wall. Then, we all brought our mattresses and placed them together where the tables had been. We set up our stuff, and then sat on our mattresses and waited for instructions.
"There are three options for what you can do tonight in the remaining two hours before bed time." Ben explained.
"We will be showing two movies in the lodges, The Parent Trap and Sandlot." he told us.
"Otherwise, you can stay in the dining hall and talk, read or play cards"
I turn to my friends.
"What should we do?" I asked.
"Let's watch The Parent Trap, I love that movie" said Gabby. The rest of us nodded in agreement.
We told our counsellor out choice, and she brought us to the movie with most of the other girls in our cabin. As we sat watching Lindsay Lohan playing the twin girls, I got an idea. I turned to my counsellor.

"Lucy, my head hurts" I lied, trying to look as zoned out as I could. She pulled me into the camp office, which was right off the movie room.
"Are you alright? Did you hit your head on something?" she asked looking concerned.
"I'm just feeling kind of dizzy" I told her, and with that I slid to the floor. While she looked through the first aid kit, I groped around the floor hoping what I was looking for was still there. Finally, I found it, and slid it into my pocket. Lucy turned around and handed me some pills.
"Here take these, I'll get you some water" she said.

As she left the room, I started to panic. I couldn't take these pills, there was nothing really wrong with me! I looked through the first aid kit quickly, and found some harmless Vitamin D that I could take with the water Lucy was about to bring me. I threw the other ones in the garbage.
"Here" Lucy said, startling me as she handed me a bottle of water. I took the Vitamin D, and rejoined the group.
"Let me know if you start feeling bad again" Lucy said. I nodded.

I knew I wouldn't be feeling bad now, because I had what I'd faked my sickness for. I had the newspaper article, and maybe even with it the key to freeing the camp from this scary killer.
