You fear what you want the most,
so you jump the gun before you wind up the joke
Scars that leave
you with a guard
jealousy and insecurities
Is what you hide in the clouds of obscurities
Don't take this the wrong way,
But you're kinda a gray cloud on a blue day
Rained out my parade
Pissed in my kool-aid.
You had it out for me from the beginning
Frien-enemy is what my intuition told me
Yet, you lend a shoulder
To pretend to grow closer.
And I believe
despite the mockery
that lingered
In the silence of you and me
You manipulate, you hate
You just cant wait
For your checkmate
But truly, you wind up biting your own bait
YOU ARE READING
Checkmate
PoetryThis poem is inspired by a friend I had when I lived in Wyoming. She was my closest friend, so I thought. Truthfully, you never know somebody's intentions but thank you for the great poem!
