Sighing, Cho closed up the register, already untying her apron from the back. "Finally," she muttered, checking the clock as it struck 7, the end of her shift. "I can get out of here."
"Wait, please. One more customer?" An unfamiliar familiar guy pleaded, knocking against the glass of the entrance before walking in. "I know it's closing time but I'm really hungry," he muttered, shaking his hair lightly, scattering a few drops of rainwater. "Is it too late to ask for just one slice? Are there any left?"
Cho arched her brow, trying to recognize the young-looking fellow in front of the counter; not that he was important, but because she wondered who was the inconsiderate being who came and extended her working hours for no extra pay, and why she felt like she had seen him somewhere before. "Um, why didn't you just come earlier," she spoke, sighing, still eyeing the male.
"I got here as fast as I could, now are you going to serve me or?" He asked bluntly, a bit irritated from the girl's reaction. "You don't have to, I just hope that you do."
Looking at the final slice of cheese pizza she had hoped to score for herself, Cho thinned a smile, motioning to the almost empty tray. "This is all
that's left," she said. "Let me wrap that up for ya."
The male nodded contently, brushing a hand through his black, wet strands before placing it back into his pocket. "Are you charging me extra?" He chuckled lightly, hungrily eyeing the slice as Cho wrapped it up.
"No. I'll let you off easy, but please don't make it happen again," she thinned a smile, handing the male the food, waiting for her payment. "And by the way," she thought twice before she asked. "Do I know you from somewhere?"
"Of course, Cho," the stranger startled the girl, a small smirk plastered on his face as he observed her shocked expression. "Do you not remember me? Okay- Highschool. Second-year. I confessed to liking you and you kind of didn't take it well," he rubbed his neck, chuckling lightly as he handed her the money.
"J-Jungkook?" Cho stuttered, still confused at the unfamiliar face. The boy who was once short, skinny, and always wore an over-shaped ball cut was now this buff guy with neck-length, jet black hair; his face nowhere near as innocent as it used to be. "Y-you've changed so much."
"Yeah, late bloomer," Jungkook smiled softly. "Puberty does something to you I guess," he lowered his head, wet strands falling over lightly, causing the girl to feel sort of, foolish, for letting him down how she did.
"That is something," Cho mumbled shyly, "So um, have a good night,"
"Rushing me so soon?" Jungkook teased. "You meet up with the guy you let down years ago, and he looks so different as you say, and you just run me out?" He chuckled.
"N-No don't get me wrong, Jungkook. I just really want to go home, Cho muttered, cheeks lightly reddening. I don't really like walking home when it's late.
The latter sighed, combing through his locks once again. You know you don't have to be scared to ask, right? He teased, chuckling some; his small smile emphasizing that tiny freckle below his lip that she had only then recognized as the new color of his hair highlighted it so well. I'll wait for you outside hurry and close up, Jungkook alerted, already heading for the door.
After organizing some things in the kitchen and behind the corner, Cho met up with the older on the outside, nodding and fidgeting nervously as they came in contact.
Ready to go? Jungkook smirked at the female's anxiousness, looking down to lock eyes with the shorter. His eyes seemed cold at first, but as the girl re-familiarized herself with the pearls, it made her feel warm, a feeling she never thought to experience from the late bloomer she never had any interest in.
