𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗽.𝗼.𝘃 (I'm using the name Vince for the hero btw)

My friends were in the main part of the base making jokes and talking about dumb stuff not caring that we just stole a crown from one of the most powerful villains here a couple days ago. I had told them we need a plan if He came and tried to get the crown back. My friend's didn't even listen to me asking them to at least help me set up security but they declined and continued to joke and laugh and talk.
I'm starting to think about going solo. I mean my teammates did help me get the crown but they don't want to help with anything else,
Ever since Vernon came back to life after dying everyone has had their guard down cause now they think that everyone can come back magically,
They don't know that he had the life shard in his pocket when he died! Obviously he would come back to life if he had the life shard!!
I gave him the life shard because I knew he would somehow die in the fight. He's clumsy and doesn't have a lot of experience with weapons, or fighting. so I gave him the life shard just in case.
And now my teammates think we're immortal or whatever dumb stuff they think we are.
I walk over to Zara, the only other serious one of the group that controls the ship when we're at sea for a mission. and taped her on the shoulder her head turning to face me. some of her sky blue hair straying to the front of her face. Her lips curled into a smile and a light blush brushed against her dark skin.
I smiled at her and averted my eyes to the entrance and then to the cameras in the box and other tools than back to her "Can you help me set up some security systems? The rest of the team keep ignoring me and laughing." She nodded and gave me a closed eye smile "I would love to" her silk like voice spoke.
I smiled at her and picked up the tools and headed to the entrance with her trailing behind me.
Time skip......

I wiped the sweat off my forehead as I set down my drink and faced Zara who was still working on setting up a camera.
I decided to pick up a small can of black paint and paint the groups logo.
A little feather with a star around it, Basic but my best friend made it when we were kids and wanted a logo for our little dumb inventions.
I smiled at the little drawing on the door as Zara put a hand on my shoulder and said "I know you miss him, He's been gone for 8 years. But I'm sure he would be proud of you." She said and smiled at me.
I nodded at her my brown dusty hair falling in front of my face a little "Anyways I'm done setting up my part of the security, you?" Zara asked "Yeah i'm finished. I think I'm gonna go make some food for the group." I said and smiled. She nodded and walked away, I headed for the kitchen. Got out pots and pans and multiple utensils and got to work on dinner.
