Wind blew the wet drizzle of rainfall against the cold, large windows in Kara's loft. It was late evening, and the busy, chaotic day was coming to an end. National city's never ending traffic and buzz of people, out in the cold rain,  continued life as usual. But inside the little apartment, smack dap in the middle of the bustling metropolis, was peaceful, quiet, and warm.

Sitting on the couch, under her favorite red knit blanket, Kara sat watching her favorite movie, The wizard of Oz. Only a couple of lights on, sporadically  placed throughout the small home, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere. Snuggled under the blanket, she was only half-way focused on the tv. Her brain zoned out to somewhere far, far away.  The sudden sound of the door opening jolts Kara out of her daydream.

"Honey, I'm home!" Mon-el sings as he swings around the doorframe, making his way to the dimly lit kitchen.

Kara laughs, "Hi,' Her voice was soft, but sweet.

Mon-el sets a grocery bag on the island tabletop. Smiling at his beautiful girlfriend, he starts to put a few items into the refrigerator. Kara can't help it, for a content and happy look comes over her face as she makes her way to the far end of the kitchen island. Closing the fridge, Mon-el grabs the plastic bag off the counter. It still had one thing in it. Spinning around, Mon-el's face was filled with exuberance.

"Guess what I got..." He teased in an excited fashion.

Kara tilted her head, trying to give a shot at guessing, but gave up after a few short seconds. Relinquishing all will to hypothesize what could possibly be inside the ever so mysterious bag, Kara jumped up and down, now right in front  of Mon-el.

"I don't know! Show me!" She pleaded, with an innocence in her eye that Mon-el truly loved so much. He only chuckled at her eagerness.

Whipping the bag out from behind his back, Mon-el pulls out cookie dough from inside. This made Kara's smile grow even wider.

With the cookies in the oven, the couple waited together in the kitchen. As a happy, but calm, jazzy song came on quietly from the radio, Mon-el hopped off the barstool that sat next to Kara, and turned back to her.

Reaching out his hand, he smiled, "May I have this dance, M'lady?"

Kara blushed, he knew exactly how to make her feel loved. It was the little things like this- the random shows of affection -that mattered.

She took his hand and smiled, "I'd love to," she giggled. Her voice was calm, but inside, she was a chaotically beautiful mess of butterflies.

Now hand in hand, the two lovebirds began to sway back in forth in the dimly lit kitchen, the smell of freshly baking cookies swirling around, and love in the air as they twirled around.

Whirling in circles, Kara laughs and spins into his grasp. Mon-el hugs her tightly and chuckles deeply, they sway side to side, both beaming with delight.

It was late evening, and the busy, chaotic day was coming to a beautiful, perfect end.
