"Ease up, princess. This is a party after all, isn't it?" the man from the shadows spoke, floating closer towards me.

Soon, the lights of the pathway lit up his face. It was a tall, slender male with gray skin. I didn't recognize his face or shaggy black hair. He wore a t-shirt and jeans with a tattered flannel. He was hardly dressed for a ball.

"Who are you? And where is your invitation?" I demanded, trying to keep my confidence within me.

"My invitation?" he questioned. He patted his pockets for a moment before looking up at me with a small smirk that flashed his white fangs. "I must have forgotten it."

"So that's it, you're a vampire?" I asked, taking a step closer to get a better look at him.

"What...aren't you scared, princess?" he asked with a curious look.

"I am not a princess. I work for Prince Gumball," I corrected him.

"You're dressed like a princess," he chuckled under his breath, floating a little closer to me. "How did Prince Gumball land such a pretty assistant? I don't recall seeing you around at the last ball."

"How do you know Prince Gumball?" I questioned.

"You're so tense," he mumbled, going behind me.

He set his arms on my shoulders, and I instantly pulled away. "I'm going to ask you one more time, how do you know Prince Gumball?"

"That's not relevant right now. All that is, is how I want to know you," he smirked.

"I will have guards out here in a matter of seconds if you don't-"

My train of thought was instantly lost as I heard a giggle from above. I took a few steps over, ignoring the man in front of me, only to hear Fiona and the prince.

"The view up here is so amazing!" Fiona said.

"One of the few perks, but I must admit Fiona, without you I wouldn't even be able to have this ball. You are truly the amazing one," the prince told her.

They were up on the balcony, and even though I didn't want to think anything of it, it was hard.

Pull it together, you are only his assistant after all.

"You look rather upset," the man behind me commented. "Prince being stolen away from you?"

I didn't have the time or patiences to deal with this guy.

"Look, stay at the ball all you want. I have other things I need to attend to. Just don't cause any trouble, and we won't have any issues," I sternly told him.

"Oh so scary," he chuckled. "As I said before, you seem stressed, and it is apparent that the prince doesn't give you the attention that you deserve. I think you should ditch...with me."

"I don't know you," I snarled back at him.

"I am Marchall Lee, Vampire King," he told me. "Now, are you going to tell me your name, princess?"

"If I do, will you stop calling me princess?" I asked him.

"I'll think about it," he grinned.

I let out an aggravated sigh. "I'm (Y/N)."

"(Y/N)? With a name as beautiful as that, it is hard to not mistake you for a princess," he smirked.

"You're absolutely ridiculous," I scowled. "Now, if you'll excuse me-"

Again, I heard laughter above us, shaking me to the core. I looked back to Marshall, who stood in fornt of me with his signature devilish grin.

"Come on, it'll only be for the night. I'll make sure you get back safe and sound in the morning, what do you say?" he questioned, offering his hand out to me.

Oh, I am going to regret this.

"Yeah...okay," I agreed taking his hand.
