"NOOO!" You scream, snapping back to reality.
You pause in shock, trying to figure out why you're now in bed and not in the car.
"Your what?!" You turn when you hear a voice behind you but no one's there, "Baby listen."
You fall to the floor as foreign voices whisper in your skull. Something's wrong, and you can feel yourself descending into another panic attack, a worse one.
"RUN!" Screams the voice to your right. "HELP!" You cry, "I SAID RUN!" Screams the same voice to your left. You scream again, "HELP ME!" But everything is so still. There's a loud swoosh coming from behind, "RUUUUUUN!" Cries the voice, then you're warped into waves of red. Suddenly, you're sailing down a dark aperture, a portal forming beneath you and devouring you into its walls with the blink of an eye. It appears that you're descending into what looks like Hell. This reminds you of Coraline, the part where she crawls through the colorful tunnel into the new world, and just when you begin to see light again, you pass out.
"Are you alive!?" You wake up to a hand shaking your body. A man with large, black, leathery wings and turquoise eyes hovers above you, shiny canines pointing down at you as he speaks. Your mind digs for words, your hands tremble at your sides. All you can do is sit there, frozen with fear. He reaches a clawed hand out to you, but soon retracts it when he sees the fear in your eyes, "It's me Darling." He whimpers.
You immediately stand up but go crumbling back to the floor, landing softly on slippery tiles and in the arms of who you just can't accept as Voltiaere. You flinch when he touches you, and it takes several minutes too long for you to realize you were not home. You're in a house, a mansion actually, no a palace, large columns and gold lined wine glasses atop dark oak tables fencing you from the doorway. You're half-alive, and you don't even know where to begin. How the hell did you get here? Why are there people with wings? Are even on Earth at this point?
"What? What is going on? Why are you-" Voltiaere had markings that went down his arms and along middle of his chest, symbols that you could not decipher. His hair was still in its usual blonde state, except the shag stopped abruptly at the ears, lobes rung with scarlet jewels pushed into platinum like droplets of blood on polished clay. He wore a black silk top with the first three buttons open and a corset that cinched his waist in at the middle. He had black pants on and those boots, looking like his usual self, but more like an infamous prince. He was so attractive it really boggled your mind. But it scared you. You processed the little time you all have shared, and just like that another reality hits you.
"Just listen. I know everything has been untouchable, but I had to do this or else... Never mind. We just have to go with plan B. Okay? You have to trust me. Trust me one last time" He begins, glancing at the door as he speaks. He ushers you back into the bed once you woke up in with panic, but you push him away and get there yourself.
"You passed out after I sent you through the portal, so I brought you to my room. It's been just about five hours. And I'm sorry but I don't know where your clothes went. This night gown will have to do. For your safety. For the plan."
"What fucking plan?!-"
"So, you recall me telling you about my "parents", right?" You nod slowly in reply, "Well my mother was a Succubus, and my father is Dracula. You understand?"
"Huh? So, you're not human? Is this why you disappeared? For so goddamn long?"
"Uh sort of" he replies with a shake of his hair. "I had to come back home. Even though I said I was stuck in your world, I know I really wasn't. I left and returned regularly due to my duties here, the ones I mentioned in the beginning. The days go by so fast here, I never realized how long I was gone for. And I'm sorry. I was so focused on what we were making that I lost my mind in the process, a first for me."
