It is the year three thousand; technology has advanced and so has humanity.
Two coworkers are at their stations talking to each other.
"Hey!",
one who is not short begins.
"Oh, hello again!",
one who is not tall replies excitedly replies. The air is alive with the electricity of both. Topics come and go, each starting with a pause and ending with a laugh.
Every day when the power flickers on so does their love.

Days and days would pass; the chemistry between the two was quite obvious even though they were complete opposites. Some found it sweet, others were disgusted. The relationship was frowned upon by most.
They were often whispered about and ridiculed.

The one who is not short braved an unexpected conversation.
"I know we shouldn't be doing this... But I cant help what I feel. I need you in my life... w-would you join me in marriage?"
the one who is not short asked quietly.
"I... can't believe this is happening! I mean... You're just so cool! Why me?",
the one who is not tall asked flusteredly.
"Hey, you're great! I lose time track of time with you! And you have such a wonderful fiery personality-",
the one who is not short stammered.
"You know I can't say yes... I-Its forbidden."

They were interrupted by the boss, clearing his throat.
"Can you guys stop?! I mean... This is weird... I didn't ask for this when I was shopping for appliances! You are an oven and you are a fridge! You're for food! Not love!"
They sat in shame. He was right. They didn't even have a ring.
"Okay, sorry. Just - kitchen, power off."
he said as the room fell silent and all the love they shared vanished with the flick of a switch.
