Draco Malfoy's POV

I stood at the platform nine and three quarters with mother and father. I would soon be boarding the Hogwarts Express for the first time. I looked around the ensuing chaos. Students with their families, talking, hugging, kissing... ewww. And filthy mudbloods with more mudloods that will unfortunately board the same train.

"Stay away from the likes of those." Father drawled, pointing towards a group of students with red colored robes. "Gryffindoors?"

"Yes."

I nodded. Father had told me that our master was killed by their likes. They are all blood traitors supporting, befriending and marrying mudbloods.

"Draco. Remember, Harry Potter is going to be in same year. Bring him to the right side." Father reminded me.

"Yes Father. Don't worry."

The train whistled, signalling that it was time to board the train. Mother hugged me and then kissed the top of my head. Father then patted my shoulder and I picked up my trunk, dragging it behind me.

***

After placing the trunk properly, I exited my compartment trying to find where Harry Potter might be.

I started looking inside compartments when suddenly a girl with long bushy hair crashed against me.

"Sorry, I wasn't looking." She said and walked past me. I turned around and saw her figure retreating. 'Cute.'  I thought.  I just hope she's not one of those Gryffindoor mudbloods.

I checked about the half the train, meeting the girl again who just nervously smiled at me and left. Still, I couldn't find Harry Potter.

'I think he missed the train. After all he was raised by mudbloods.'  I thought and returned to my compartment.

We finally reached the castle and were waiting to be called for sorting when I lookde owards my right and saw him.

"It's true then, what they are saying on the train." I said and walked towards him.

"Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." I completed as I stood straight in front of him.

"I am Malfoy, Draco Malfoy.' i told him and the redhead, next to him snickered.

I glared at him. "Think my name's funny. Do you? I've no need to ask for yours. Red hair and a hand-me-down-robe? You must be a Weasley." I continued glaring at the Weasel and addressed Harry again. "You'll find some wizarding families to be better than the others. And I am sure you wouldn't want to go making friends with the wrong sorts."

I finally looked back at Potter and extended my hand. "I can help you there."

"I can tell the wrong sorts for myself. Thanks." He said and glared back at me.

Did he just? Who does he think he is. He murdered our master and even then father is being kind towards him trying to get him to the right side and he goes and becomes friends with Weasel of all people and then reject my friendship in front of the whole school, making me look like an idiot. My Father will hear about this.

I will  make sure to get him kicked out. This insolent brat. Those muggles ruined his brain.

"Potter....." I hissed but before I could continue, the doors opened again and Professor McGonagall, head of Gryffindoor house walked in again.

She lead us into the Great Hall where the rest of the school was and made us stand in front of the high table with a stool and a hat. Just as father had described, back at home.

The hat broke into a hideous song and then the sorting began. I was sorted into Slytherin. I proudly walked towards the pureblood witches and wizards, many of whom I had met before in my father's parties.

I watched as students were sorted into the four different houses. That Weasel was sorted into Gryffindoor. Potter, unfortunately went into Gryffindoor as well. It was finally the  bushy girl's chance. The hat was placed on top of her head and my breath hitched. Anything but Gryffindoor. Anything but Gryffindoor.

"GRYFFINDOOR." The hat yelled.

With that Hermione Granger walked towards the Lion's red table while I sat at the Snake's Green table.
