The five of them stared at each other in silence for what felt like forever, so much so that Midoriya was starting to feel even more uncomfortable.
Each of the alphas had yet to say something, and as much as Midoriya wanted to say something, he couldn't bring himself to open his mouth to break the silence of the room.
After a couple minutes, one of the alphas finally opened his mouth.
"Are you alright?' The purple alpha asked, his voice rough and deep, almost like he wasn't used to talking much. Unfortunately, the question had the opposite effect the alpha was hoping for.
Midoriya looked down at himself, at the blanket covering him and the alphas surrounding him. Everything that hadn't processed or clicked for him before is suddenly crashing down on himself all at once and he found himself not being able to breathe.
Somehow the dim lights in the room were suddenly too bright and the silence was deafening. He didn't even notice the wet trails streaming down his face until he felt his tears drop onto his hands.
The four alphas startled out of their thoughts as the souring and almost decaying scent coming from the omega filled their small room. They all started to panic, they knew the omega was distressed and that they should maybe try to help, but how? None of them had been around anyone but alphas for years, and more often than not those encounters were filled with anger and violence.
The blond turned to face the purple alpha, glaring as a warning growl sounded from his throat, causing the purple alpha to shrink back ever so slightly.
All he did was ask a question, was it really that bad of a thing?
While the question might have sent the greenette spiraling, the growl threw the omega right into a drop. All the stress and confusion of the new situation coupled with the fact that his life was so painfully not his own anymore caused Midoriya's body to go limp as he collapsed to the floor with blank eyes as his omega instincts took over him, influencing his drop even more.
Bravely whacking the blond over the side of the head, the ravenette alpha slowly and cautiously made his way over to the silently crying omega.
Knowing that he didn't have permission, but pursuing anyway, the alpha carefully crawled into the nest, trying to seem as non-threatening as possible. Laying down next to the shaking omega, the ravenette gently reached out, making sure the omega could refuse if he wanted - granted he still could.
Pulling the omega closer, the alpha tucked the omega into his neck, right against his scent gland as he tried to make his scent as soothing as possible, the smell of sage and rain on desert sand filling the room.
A soft yet rough rumbling noise sounded from the ravenette as he sat back up with the omega placed gently in his lap, making sure the greenette was still tucked into his neck.
Leaning forward a bit, the dual-colored alpha hummed in question at the alpha curled protectively around the still trembling omega. Looking up, the ravenette thought for a moment before nodding his head to the other alpha.
Midoriya felt as if he were barely conscious. He knew that someone was holding him and was actively trying to calm him, but his overtaxed brain couldn't understand why.
Why are they holding me so gently? Midoriya thought to himself, as he slowly started to calm down from his drop. He distantly felt another pair of arms gently wrap around him as he started melting into their embrace. The scent of desert rain coupled with campfire smoke was much more soothing than he would have expected.
As he continued to calm, his breathing evening, and the tears slowed. He could feel himself start to drift off once again, somehow feeling safe in the arms of the unknown alphas.
