THEREFORE I AM

BASTIANA ALLISTOR WAS NOT A NICE WOMAN, so when she died, her adoptive children barely grieved. Instead, they went to the city of New Orleans, a place they heard was full of fun, parties, and riches. Every single sibling had different goals, but they always stood together because if they strayed from the group, they would be lost.

The family consisted of Celliana, a witch who managed to slow down her aging process, Grant, a cocky vampire, Caden, a socially awkward boy of the same species, Liander, a solemn heretic, and lastly, Jinx, a devious and charming siren.

The group worked well together because they were all extremely different, a puzzle if you will. If one piece was missing, they were not complete, they couldn't be.

The family had heard about how wonderful each nook and cranny of this lovely city was, and they wanted to explore. The first stop was a restaurant that had an absolutely lovely ballroom. It was exquisite and the music was booming.

"I could get used to this." Grant said as he smirked devilishly and threw an arm around Caden.

"I suppose it is nice." Liander shrugged slightly, it took a lot to impress him, or for him to show any emotion at all.

"I cannot imagine anyone dancing this way when mother was alive." Celliana smiled slightly, entranced with how fast pace everything was. The 1910s was truly a wonderful time.

"Well, let's all split up, shall we? Cover more ground and meet back here in a few hours?" Jinx suggested, she felt like getting into some trouble, the only one that would ever dare join her was Grant and at times he was in his own little world.

"I agree, come on Caden, let's get you a nice little lady to have fun with." Grant dragged Caden along with him as usual making their three other siblings laugh.

"I'm off to get myself a drink, stay out of trouble Jinx. I can't have you getting us into a bind already." Celliana, the oldest of the group said with a sweet smile. Looks can be quite deceiving, she was lovely to her siblings but when it came to others, Cell was absolutely cruel.

"I'll try my best, no promises." Jinx smirked slightly as her older sister strutted away. "I trust you'll be fine alone, brother?"

"Yes, go on, have your fun." Liander nodded his head and crossed his arms. Sometimes, Jinx just wished he would let loose but, she knew he had been through some very traumatizing experiences and constantly thought of them.

Jinx walked straight towards the dance floor where pairs were all doing the foxtrot, all with smiles on their faces. Dancing was something that she loved to see, something that had never changed throughout her hundreds of years was the fact that dancing shows emotion. She could tell which couples loved each other, which couples despised each other, and which people had just met based solely on the way they were dancing together.
