Long ago, on a world named earth, life blossomed. Different creatures of all sizes roamed the lands, skies and oceans. Plants flourished and spread across the continents, covering the world in green. The waters of the world glistened clear and clean. The skies were of blue and white, and in the evening of red and orange. The night was silent and cool, as everything rested and was peaceful. Everything connected, everything was one. One would think that in this world, no evil could exist, that no evil could endure such good, Such happiness. However, where there is light, there is also darkness. This particular darkness branched off from the light, and changed its fate. Ultimately, disrupting the connections to life, and becoming corrupted and evil. These shadows were known as the humans.
From the shadows they crawled out, across the lands. As their darkness spread, so did their intelligence of the world around them. They thought themselves superior, gods of the blossoming planet. They tore the lands and built their civilization, and became even stronger. The life around them was corrupting, creation was being destroyed. They however, did not see this, for they had lost their bond with the earth, Forever forsaken from its help.
As the young race grew and rose to power, they became ignorant. They had forgotten that the shadows of which they were born were originally created by the pure essence of magic . From that, were the secret beings known as the immortals. It is unknown from whence they came from, or how they came to be. They had divine powers over the land, and ruled peacefully on their young and benevolent world. They saw the humans and thought nothing more of them than an insignificant race. A race that would soon face downfall, for in that time the powers of the lands shifted. A powerful species would rise, and fall. None however, resembled the humans. They were smart and cunning, and knew the secrets of life. The immortals did nothing as the humans used the secrets of life to corrupt the earth.
The creatures of the world foresaw the destruction that these shadows would bring, and all joined to speak with the immortals. From the land, skies and sea's they came and met together. They begged the immortals to help, to cease the darkness that had come forth upon the land. The immortals refused to help, for they too had become ignorant. They believed that with their power they could cleanse the world of darkness with a simple wave of the hand. The humans had an advantage however, they had been born in the image of the immortals. They had the immortal's minds, from which their creativity sprang from. They had the immortals ingenuity, and their way of acting. Soon they would wage war against the immortals, the outcome being what shaped this world today.
The humans gained enough knowledge of immortals to fight them. Immortals were bound to their nature, and had become unable to fight against it. While both human and immortal seemed equal in numbers, the humans were fragile and weak. They lacked the magic and grace of the immortals. The creatures of the world also helped the immortals, they believed light and life must forever remain. One battle turned the tides, weakening the immortals. When they first created life, they had fallen in love with it. Vowing to never abandon it, and to forever care and protect it, the immortals had sealed their fate.
