Q: Use a sentence to describe your own “must-kill ability”

Yibo: My voice is low, it’s different from the other members.

Sungjoo: Because since I’ve practiced swimming, taekwondo, aikido, martial arts, so my shoulders are broad. Hence, people nicknamed me as “shoulder hooligan”.

Seungyoun: Many said that my laughter is beautiful, a “happy virus”.

Wenhan: My voice and abdominal muscles, previously as Sun Yang’s junior to learn swimming!

Yixuan: I’m skilled at taking care of others, therefore I’m a gentleman.

Q: How did you became a member of UNIQ?

Wenhan: During my high school days in America, I’ve participated in the company’s audition, then continue as a trainee.

Yibo: I've undergone the company’s audition to be a trainee too.

Yixuan: Ever since young I’ve always liked to sing in front of everyone, I went to Australia in order to meet the person who produced Taeyang’s “Ringa Linga”, hence I learned the dance moves and participated in the China’s largest dancing competition to get into the current company.

Seungyoun: At first I dream of playing soccer, but then one day I've been crazily in love with singing, so I went back to Korea to audition in every company. The training to be an athlete is very hard, so when I became a trainee it was comfortable and I had a great time.

Sungjoo: Previously I've been a YG trainee for many years, the first few years is very difficult, then the 3rd and 4th year came by, our debut date got postponed, that time my feelings were at the bottomless pit. Now that the good times has come, in fact I've changed to be a better person.

Q: How do you communicate between the Korean and Chinese members?

Sungjoo: I've been studying in China for 2 and a half years, so my Chinese is not that bad.

Wenhan: Some of our Chinese members learn Korean by watching dramas and variety shows.

Yixuan: At first when our Chinese and Korean were not that good, we’ll use English to communicate, Chinese translating to English, from English to Korean, from Korean to English, then English back to Chinese, from one to another, once again adding actions with our hands and feet. But our members’ Chinese and Korean are much better now. 

Q: Is there any Korean and Chinese cultural differences that exist between members?

Sungjoo: At first they will have. Because there’s no hyung in China, so with this kind of dongsaeng concept, so everyone get along with each other like same aged friends. At first the Chinese members thought of the differentiation concept between hyung and dongsaeng is very strange and unfamiliar, while we Korean members were awkward with the fact that the maknae didn't call the older ones “hyung”, so in the beginning everyone was a little bit uncomfortable, but now we’re like close brothers that gives off a family vibe.

Seungyoun: At times where the Chinese members had to go back because of their Visa problems, it feels like we’re missing something, it was very lonely. In a positive way, because we’re developing in both China and Korea. So while in China, the Chinese members can talk more and while in Korea, the Korean members can talk more. That’s how we take care of each other.

Yibo: In terms of food and drinks there’s no way that we’re not comfortable with it, we Chinese members are very familiar with Korean cuisine, like sundae, sundae rice soup, samgyetang, pork trotters, I love eating all of these. The Chinese members also love Chinese meals, whenever they come to China they would enjoy eating kebab.

Q: What are your ideal types?

Yibo: A girl who is filial, single-minded, cute yet has a hint of sexiness and have milky skin.

Sungjoo: My ideal type is someone who is like my mom, because my mom’s cooking is very delicious, has a nice personality too, especially caring towards me and is beautiful.

Seungyoun: I like a girl who has charms, but now my energy is totally focused on my work, so currently I don’t have a fixed ideal type.

Wenhan: I like a girl who is smart, someone who does things earnestly, a girl who has emits out charms all over.

Yixuan: Firstly she must be filial, I think being filial is very important, then must be kind-hearted and full of love, someone who laughs prettily, whom I can impulsively embrace in my arms.
