Chapter 6

Kevin's P.O.V.

Today is a busy day from me I got to go check the trap to see if my money was right and later on today, my mamma is having a dinner and got I feeling some shit gone go down. I got up out my bed took a bath then left on my way to the trap. But on the way I got call from my niyah so I called tony and mike then told them to meet with ken. I got on the interstate on the way to niyah house. When I got got there I only saw her car so. I text her and told her I was outside she text back saying the door was unlock. I got went in the house on the way in I lock the door. I called her name she said she was upstairs.

Niyah P.O.V

I woke up this morning and did my Morning Hygiene.After I got Ready, I went down stairs into the kitchen to fix me some to eat. she went into the living room. I turned to TV on and seen shit on there, "Damn I'm bored and hungry." I'm gone call Kevin and tell him I'm bored and hungry but I don't think he'll come because he stay busy so I'm gone tell him it's important. "hello" :Kevin come over it's important." "aright i'm on my way." "Oh yeah bring some food with you too." "What you want." "Give me what ever." "aright." I hung up the phone and continued to watch what was on. twenty minutes later, I heard the door close. "Niyah where you at?" "In the living room." "Hey." "Hey" Kevin sat next to me watching TV. It was silent, not a awkward silence, A comfortable silence. "Oh yeah Kevin where is my food?" "It's in the kitchen, you want me to get it for you?" "Yeah you can." Kevin got up and went to the kitchen and got my food. He bought me chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. And for to drink, he bought me some sweet tea. "Thank you." "No problem, I'll do anything for my baby mamma." "Don't call Me that." "What you want me to call you then, you my baby mamma." "Call me by my name." "OK Niyah what ever." A few hours later, Kevin left. I walked upstairs to take a little nap because I was tired.

Kevin P.O.V

I was in my car on my way home from Niyah's house. It was 5:30 and the dinner only start at seven O'clock. I pulled up into my driveway and jumped out the car. I walked in the house and ran upstairs into my room. I walked in my closet to find me something to wear for the dinner. Five minutes later, I found me something to wear. I picked out a black V-neck t-shirt, with some white true religion pants and grey Levi jeans . I laid my clothes on my bed and walked in my bathroom. I turned my water on to my shower stripped out of my clothes and took a 30 minute shower. After my shower I got ready and left on way to my mamma Denise house. When I arrived at moms it was 6:30 I walked in the house greeted by the smell of soul food. I walked in the kitchen didn't see nobody so lift the top of the cake pan about to stick my pan on the cake somebody hit me in the of the head. "damn" I said. "get out the food child" my mamma said. "I wasn't doing nothing ma" I said (lying). "stop lying and take your ass to in the living room" she said. So I went in the living room and sat down with Aaliyah a few minutes later I heard the doorbell ring. I went to answer it already knowing who it was. "Good evening Mr and Mrs Louis, what's good Niyah come on in." I led them to the living room while Liyah went to tell mamma Niyah and her fam was here. My mom came and told everyone dinner was ready.  So we went and sat at Mr Louis and me at the head ends of the table, mama and Mrs Louis across from each other, and liyah and niyah across from each out. Mr Louis blessed the food and we dug in.

Niyah P.O.V.

We were at Kevin's mom house for dinner. When ms dee came out and told us the food was done and we went to the kitchen I thought I died and went to soul food heaven because there was no way I was leaving without trying everything in this kitchen. After my dad did the blessings I was the first to dig in. On plate I had black eye peas, cornbread, fried chicken,collard greens, and Mac n cheese. I was moaning while eating my black eye peas and cornbread I felt eyes on me when I looked up everyone at the table was looking at me. "What !" I exclaimed with a slight attitude. "Do you have to do all that?" Kevin asked while smirking. " do you have to be stupid" I asked. He put his hands up in surrender. After dinner was over made sure I took extra with me. I told ms.dee I had a good time and she surgest we hang out sometime since we will be family in 8months. I  said OK then got in the car with my parents went home and called it a day.
