Emilie's POV
We got home and were talking to Dad after we connected the dots Matt was the killer, I mean the Kanima was scared of water and so is Matt. "So this kid's the real killer?" Dad asked. "Yeah." Stiles and I said. "No." Dad said. "Yes!" Stiles and I both yelled. "No." Dad insisted looking at us. "Dad, come on. Everybody knows that the police look for ways to connect victims in a murder, okay? So all he had to do is, like, look through their transcripts and figure out which class they all had in common." Stiles said shrugging. "Yeah, except for the fact that the rave promoter Kara wasn't in Harris's class." Dad said. "All right, okay, you're right, sorry. Then I guess they dropped the charges against him?" I said. "No, you know what? They're not dropping the charges. But that doesn't prove anything. Scott, Sage, and Grace, do you believe this?" Dad said. "Oh." Stiles and I said. "It's really hard to explain how we know this, but you just gotta trust us." Scott said. "We know it's Matt." Sage said. "Yeah, he took Harris's car, okay? Look, he knew that if a cop found tire tracks at one of the murders, and that if enough of the victims were in Harris's class, that they'd arrest him." I explained to Dad. "All right, fine. I'll allow the remote possibility, but give me a motive. I mean, why would this kid want most of the 2004 swim team and its coach dead?" Dad said. "I mean he also tried to rape me." I mumbled. "Isn't it obvious? Our swim team sucks! They haven't won in, like, six years." Grace said. "Okay, we don't have a motive yet. I mean, come on, does Harris?" Stiles said, I nodded agreeing with my brother. "What do you want me to do?" Dad asked. "We need to look at the evidence." Scott said. "Yeah, that would be in the station, where I no longer work." Dad said. "Trust us, they'll let you in." Isabelle said walking downstairs in jeans, a purple top, and black flannel. "Trust you?" Dad asked. "Trust - trust Grace?" I tried. "Grace I trust." Dad said. We got to the station and Isabelle and Dad went to talk to the deputy. "It's 2:00 in the morning." The deputy said. "Believe me, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't extremely important." Dad said as the five of us snuck in. "We look at the hospital stuff first, okay?" I said, starting to look for it. "Why?" Sage asked us. "Because all the murders were committed by Jackson, except for one, you remember?" Stiles said to him. "The pregnant girl, Jessica." Scott said. "Yeah. Since Matt had to kill her himself, somebody from the hospital could've seen him." "Thank you, kids. I don't know, guys. I mean, look at this. There was a six - car pileup that night, the hospital was jammed." Dad said looking through the security cameras. "All right, just keep going. Look, he had to have passed one of the cameras on that floor to get to Jessica, okay? He's gotta be on the footage somewhere." I said. "Oh, hold on, stop! Did you see that? Scroll back." Grace said and we saw the back of his head. "That's him! That's Matt!" Stiles said. "All I see is the back of someone's head." Dad said. "Matt's head, yeah. I sit behind him in history. He's got a very distinct cranium, it's weird." Stiles said. "Also he's had the same haircut since middle school." I said. "Are you crazy?" Dad asked. "All right, fine, then look at his jacket, huh? How many people do you know who wear black leather jackets?" I asked. "Millions, literally." Dad said. "Okay, can we scroll forward? There's gotta be a shot of him coming at one of the cameras." Isabelle said and Dad played the feed. "Right there! Stop, stop! See, there he is again." I said. "You mean there's the back of his head again." Dad said. "Okay, but look. He's talking to someone." Grace said. "He's talking to my mom." Scott said. Sage called his Mom and had it on speaker. "Scott, Sage, you know how many people I deal with in a day?" She asked. "This one's 16 he's got dark hair, looks like a normal teenager." Sage said. "Yeah, he looks evil." I said. "Scott and Sage, I already talked to the police about this." She said being done. "Okay, mom, I'm gonna take a picture and send it to you. Did you get it?" Scott asked sending her a pic of Matt. "Yeah." She said. "Do you recognize him? Do you remember him?" Sage asked her. "Yeah, I did. I mean, I remember I stopped him because he was tracking mud in the hall. Scott, Sage, what's going on?" Ms. McCall said. "It's - it's nothing, mom. We'll explain later. We gotta go."Sage said hanging up. "We've got shoe prints alongside the tire tracks at the trailer site." Dad said. "And if they match, that puts Matt at the scene of three murders. The trailer, the hospital, and the rave." Isabelle said. "Actually, four. A credit card receipt for an oil change was signed by Matt at the garage where the mechanic was killed." Dad said. "When?" Stiles asked. "A couple hours before you got there." Dad said. "All right, dad, if one's an incident, two's a coincidence, and three's a pattern, what's four?" I asked. "Four's enough for a warrant. Scott and Sage, call your mom back, see how quick she can get here. If I can get an official ID, I can get a search warrant. Stiles, go to the front desk. Tell them to let Scott and Sage's mom in when she gets here." Dad said. "On it." Stiles said. I was with Dad, Grace, and Isabelle and we turned and saw Matt pointing a gun at us. "She's on her way here. Sheriff, Em, Grace, Isabelle?" Scott said as the two walked with Stiles. "Matt? It's Matt, right? Matt, whatever's going on, I guarantee you there's a solution that doesn't involve a gun." Dad said. "You know, it's funny you say that, because I don't think you're aware of just how right you are." Matt said. "I know you don't wanna hurt people." Dad said. "Actually, I wanna hurt a lot of people. You all weren't on my list, but I could be persuaded. And one way is to try dialing somebody on your cell phone, like McCall is doing. That - that could definitely get someone hurt. Everyone. Now!" Matt said. "Come on." Dad said and Matt made us go to the holding cell. "Now you go in but Emilie will stay by my side, being my girlfriend and all." Matt said and I think I heard Scott growl. "Tighter." Matt instructed me while I handcuffed my own Dad. "Do what he says, Emmy." Dad said. "What, are you gonna kill everyone in here?" Sage asked. "No, that's what Jackson's for. I just think about killing them, and he does it." Matt said and made me stand up. "Maybe after this after I kill them we can have fun." Matt said I scratched his arm and he glared. "I'd rather sleep with Whittemore." I said. We were now deleting the footage. "Deleted. And we're done. All right, so, Matt, since all the people you brutally murdered deserved it because they killed you first - whatever that means - I think we're good here, right?" I said. "So we'll just get my dad, and we'll go, you know? You continue on the whole vengeance thing. Enjoy the kanima." Isabelle said. "Sounds like your mom's here, McCall's." Matt said. "Matt, don't do this. When she comes to the door, I'll just tell her to leave. I'll tell her we didn't find anything. Please, Matt." Scott said. "If you don't move - now, I'm gonna kill Stiles, Emilie, Grace, and Isabelle first, and then your mom. Open it." Matt said. "Please." Sage said. "Open the door." Matt said and Scott opened it and it was Derek and Violet. "Oh, thank God." Sage said. "This is the one controlling him? This kid?" Derek said. "Isn't he the guy Emilie has a restraining order on?" Violet asked. "Well, Derek, not everyone's lucky enough to be a big, bad werewolf. Oh, yeah, that's - that's right. I've learned a few things lately. Werewolves, hunters, kanimas. It's like a frickin' Halloween party every full moon. Except for you, five. What do you all turn into?" Matt asked. "All I can do is see the future." Grace said. "Non of your business." Violet and Isabelle said glaring. "Abominable snow people. But, uh, it's more of, like, a wintertime thing, you know, seasonal." Stiles and I said. I turned and dodged a Kanima that attacked Derek. "Emilie run!" Scott yelled. I ran out and saw hunters who pointed guns at me. "I'm human." I said. "She is." Allison said. "Emilie why are you here?" Conner asked. "Learning alchemy." I said wanting to make a Fullmetal Alchemist reference. "Well leave." Mr. Argent said. I nodded and ran around front and saw Scott and Ms.McCall, I ran up to them and Scott grabbed me. "Mom, just do what he says. He promised he wouldn't hurt you." Scott said. "He's right. But I didn't say I wouldn't hurt you." Matt said. "Wait, baby." Ms. McCall said. "Back, back!" Matt yelled and knocked Scott and I both down. "Mom, mom, stop, mom!" Scott said. "I said get back!" Matt yelled. "Scott, Emilie." Ms. McCall said. "Mom, do it. Please, mom." Scott said. "Get up, McCall and Emilie." Matt said and Scott made sure he was somewhat taking the pain from me. "Matt? Matt, listen to me." Dad said and I noticed Isabelle and Grace were in a holding cell and they nodded at Matt, he probably put them in. "Shut - shut - shut up! Everybody shut the hell up! Now, get up, or I shoot her next!" Matt said. "Please, they need to see a doctor." Ms. McCall said. "You think so?" Matt asked. "Hey, hey, you listen to me!" Dad said. "It's all right. I'm okay." Scott said. "No, honey, you're not okay." Ms.McCall said. "If Millie's okay; than I'm okay." Scott said. "Poetic but you look like hell." Grace said. "It doesn't hurt, mom." Scott said. "Cause that's the adrenaline, okay? Please, let me - let me just take a look at him, okay? I mean, I can help stop the bleeding." Ms. McCall said. "They have no idea, do they?" Matt said. "Tell them and I'll rip your head off." I said. "Please. Let me just take a quick look." Ms. McCall said. "Shut - shut - shut - shut up! Lady, if you keep talking, I'm gonna put the next bullet through his and her head." Matt said. "Okay. Okay." Ms. McCall saidz Back to the front, McCall and Emilie." Matt said as Scott helped me up while still taking pain from me. "After you." I managed out. We were walking. "The evidence is gone. Why don't you just go?" Scott asked. "You - you think the evidence mattered that much, huh? No, no, I - I want the book." Matt said. "What - what book?" Scott asked. "The bestiary. Not just a few pages, I want the entire thing." Matt said. "We don't have it. It's Gerard's. What do you want it for, anyway?" I said. "I need answers." Matt said to us. "Answers to what?" Scott asked. "To this." Magg said and shot Scott in the arm. "You asshole!"
I yelled tackling him and he cut my leg with a knife. "There. You know, I - I feel sorry for you, McCall, 'cause right now, you're thinkin', "how am I gonna explain this when it heals? And the sad part is, you don't even realize how incredible it is that you actually are healing. 'Cause you know what happens to everyone else when they get shot? They die." Matt said. "Is that what happened to you? You drowned, didn't you?" I said. "He shouldn't have let them drink." Matt said. "What - who - Matt, what do you mean?" Scott asked. "Lahey! He shouldn't have let them drink." Matt said. "What, who was drinking?" I asked. "The swim team, you idiot! I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know they had just won state, and Lahey, he's letting his favorites come over to have a couple drinks to celebrate. Who cares if they're 17, right?" Matt said. "Were you at Isaac's?" I asked. "He had this first edition Spider - man, or was it Batman? And we were gonna make a trade. But then I'm over there and I hear music. And everyone's having a good time, and I see Sean. He throws Jessica in the pool. And then - and then Bennett goes in." Matt said. "Bennett? What - the hunter?" Scott asked. "And then Camden. Isaac's jarhead brother, he grabs me. He thinks it's funny."Matt said. "They threw you in." I said. "I - I yelled that I can't swim, but nobody listens. I go under and I swallow water, and no one cares. And I see these bodies underwater. I - I see Jessica's got her hands down Sean's board shorts. Tucker's grabbing Kara. And I'm drowning. I'm dying, and they're laughing. All of a sudden, I was just - I'm lying by the pool. And Lahey is right there, right above me, and he says, 'you tell no one! This, this is your fault! What little bastard doesn't know how to swim? You say nothing! You tell no one! No one!' And I didn't. I didn't tell anyone. And I would see them at school, and they wouldn't even look at me. I'd wake up in the middle of the night. I'd gasp for breath. And my parents, they thought I was an asthmatic. They - they - they - they even gave me an inhaler. They didn't know that every time I closed my eyes, I - I was drowning. You know about that little white light that they talk about, you see when you die? Well, I didn't see anything. Just darkness. Everything was dark. But then - then came the Argent's funeral, and everything changed. I was taking some photos, and then, purely by accident, Lahey gets in one of the photos. I look down at the screen on my camera, and I just had this unbelievable rage that fills up inside of me, and I just - I look at him, and I - I wanna see him dead. And the next day, he actually was. You know, Einstein was right. Imagination is more important than knowledge. It was like something out of Greek mythology. Like - like the furies coming down to punish Orestes. You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?" Matt said. "Was - was he the guy who stabbed out his eyes?" Scott asked. "God, that's Oedipus, you dumbass! The furies are deities of vengeance. Their tears ran of blood, and they had snakes for hair. If there was a crime that had gone unpunished, the furies would do the punishing. Jackson is my fury. You know, when I saw him the next night, it was like this bond had been cemented between the two of us. I knew he had killed Lahey for me, and I knew he would do it again. So I went to Tucker's garage. I even paid for an oil change. And guess what. He didn't even recognize me. So when he wasn't looking, I took a shot of him from my camera. And in a few hours, he was dead. So I took more pictures. All I had to do was take their picture - And Jackson would take their life. What is this? What is this? What's happening? What's going on?"Matt asked after hearing gun shots. "I don't know." I lied knowing hunters decided they waited long enough. I ripped some of the sleeve off of Scott's shirt and wrapped my leg so it wasn't bleeding so bad. I got out of the station and saw Conner who had gotten Grace and Isabelle out. "How?" I asked. "Conner gave me a bracelet they if I hit it he'll know my location." Isabelle said. "And you said it was creepy." Conner said. "Saved our damn lives." Grace said and I saw Gerard had Matt and drowned him. "Is it bad I don't have sympathy for Matt?" I asked. "He almost raped you, so no." Conner said. I saw Jackson and Gerard looked at it. "No longer afraid of the water? Well, you don't have to be afraid of anything, my friend. Especially me." Gerard said. "He's one evil grandpa." Grace said. "He's evil for even a hunter." Conner said. "Isabelle! Emilie!" We turned and saw Dad and Stiles. "You two okay?" He asked. "Yeah Conner was able to get us out." Isabelle said. "Thanks Conner." Dad said. "No problem, I want to protect Isabelle with my life." Conner said. "Understood." Dad said. "Lydia's probably home, see you all later." Grace said. We went home and I fell on my bed in my comfort pjs after a shower I saw Scott texted me.
Scott:Well my Mom knows Sage and I are werewolves.
Emilie:How is she taking it?
Scott:She locked herself in her bedroom.
I sighed got off my phone and went to sleep.
A\N:New chapter, and I don't really remember what happened in this episode except for Matt's flashback and Gerard killing him. Also fun fact I originally thought Gerard died at the end of season 2.
