〖 chapter three 〗

🏒

Jayden stepped within the school halls once more, spotting Annie immediately, she was wearing a brights smile as usual as she skipped towards her.

"Hey, you enjoy the game last night?" Jayden asked, pulling her bag onto her shoulder properly. "I should be asking you that" Annie giggled whilst wriggling her eyebrows towards her.

"It's been said you were found in the changing rooms with Connor after the game" Annie explained, now dragging her books from her locker, a suggestive grin still plastered on her face.

"I just went to thank him for inviting me" Jayden claimed, returning the grin equally as big.

"You never told me he invited you?" Annie gasped. Jayden pulled her books from the neighboring locker and shoved them into her shoulder bag.

The two girls began there descent down the high school corridors. "So I was thinking I might start up the girls team again, know anyone who'd wanna play?" The brunette asked, looking upon the smaller, darker haired girl beside her. "Erm not really, the girls at this school don't really rough around much, but I'll keep my ears peeled" The smaller girl replied truthfully.

Honestly that's what Jayden expected, the girls at the school were more of the cheerleader type, fragile and too worried of the way they looked.

"What about you, fancy playing some hockey?" Jayden questioned the darker haired girl, she didn't seem as prissy and self obsessed as the others. "I would like to try it, although I don't know how to skate" she admitted a blush playing on her cheeks. Jayden released a small laugh, "well that's the easy part, meet me at the rink tonight and I'll teach you" The brunette explained. Annie's smile doubled and she began to jump slightly with excitement. "Okay sounds good".

🏒

Connor was heading to the rink for his late night training, he needed to keep himself fit and ready for the next few games as they were becoming more important.

Upon entering the rink, dragging his gym bag by the side of him, full to the brim with his gear.

He watched the rink in its spotlight, the sound of girls laughed sounded from the ice. It was usually empty when he came to train as he preferred the company of himself. Yet gliding across the ice with precise skill was the brunette from the other day. He hand was classed with another girls from school, whom had zero balance and was slipping all over. The two were smiling brightly.

Jayden had slipped infront of Annie, the smaller girls sweaty hands grasped tightly onto hers as Jayden skated backwards in order to teach Annie to skate forward, as she looked up she spotted the dirty blonde ice hockey player by the side of the rink, she smiled towards him, an action in which he responded. "You need the ice?" She shouted to him. "No I can come back" he replied, using his arm to gesture his leave.

The brunette let go of the dark haired girls hand and swiftly skated towards the boy. "You can join us you know" Jayden told him. He smiled at her. "You seem busy" he stated.

"I'm just teaching her how to skate, you'd be able to help considering your the expert" The brunette beamed as she pulled her hair back into a hair tie.

"You seem to skate pretty well" He pointed out.

"To play hockey you have to be able to skate" she beckoned, he scoffed slightly.

He hadn't thought her pure love for hockey had meant she'd played.

He was tempted, however he swapped his gaze to the struggling Annie falling all over as a result he chuckled.

"Maybe another time, good luck"
She smiled at him once more before gliding back towards the dark haired girl.

🏒

Connor was sat amongst his team in a popular diner called 'Rindels'.

Rindels was a medium sized diner that sat a few blocks from the school, it was the perfect place for the students to hand out and grab a snack, it was such a popular place for the new generation, yet the finer hadn't aged since the 80's with its red and creme color theme and leather booths.

The Rays wore the light purple and white jackets, branded with the team badge, Connors having a white 'C' on the left side of his chest. For the vast majority of them, hockey was there life.

The curly haired boy was perched opposite connor, drinking a foamy hot chocolate, once he placed it back on the table, his eyes lit up. "Did you know there's gonna be a girls team?" Hayden informed them, earning quite a sour reaction from the boys sat around the table.

"But two teams can't compete for one school" another spoke. Connor raised an eyebrow slightly. "I wouldn't worry Johnny, they won't be put in the same league as us, some can't even skate yet" the dirty blonde explained.

"How'd you know?" Johnny asked, intrigued, sitting closer into the conversation.

"I saw them training just this morning, well the captain and the one member they currently have" Connor lifted his hot chocolate to his lips flinching slightly at the hot drink against his lips.

"Who's are they?" Another teammate questioned whilst shoving a pastry into his mouth, causing a chuckle from the other players.

"I heard the captain just came from Canada, and was actually quite good there" Hayden gossiped. Dragging a hand through his brown curls.

Connor nodded along with the conversation. "Finnerty wasn't she the girl in the changing rooms with you after the game" Johnny asked, pointing back to there previous win.

"Yeh" he mumbled bringing his drink back to his lips once more.
