"Hey Ken, what are you looking at?" Butters asked, walking up behind Kenny.
"Oh, it's just a photograph Bunny, don't worry about it." Kenny gripped the photo of the two and his little sister, Karen, between his fingers, tears dripping onto the surface, smearing the ink.
"Why are you crying then?" Butters asked softly looking over Ken's shoulder,
"Oh, um, I was just drinking a little. You know I'm a bit down when I'm drunk." Kenny slightly leaned forward crossing his arms in front of him over the railing of the porch, looking over his shoulder at his boyfriend.
"You're lying, I know you are-- why are you looking at that? I thought you threw it away." Butters shot ken a disapproving look as he put his hand on the others back.
"I dug it out of the trash soon after I did, it's the last time we were together, I miss Karen, I just couldn't protect her." Kenny sighed, tears fell down his cheeks as he took another swig of the bottle next to him.
"Now now Ken, looking at it just makes you feel terrible. Just put it down." Butters took the photo from Ken's hand, intending on throwing it back out.
"Give it back!"
"God... I'm sorry, just give it back. It's all I have left of her. Please. Give it back." Kenny pleaded with his boyfriend as he grabbed at the photo.
"No." Leo shoved the photograph into his pocket as he argued with Kenny,
"It's all I have!!"
"What about me? What about your friends? Ken, I can't just let you destroy yourself like this." he stepped back gesturing to the house they stood in front of, it's Kyle's house- he was nice enough to let us stay when Ken's life fell apart after he lost Karen.
"I don't even have the motivation to keep a job anymore Bunny, please, give it to me." Kenny begged, grabbing onto Leo's arm.
"No, I'm not going to give it back."
"Leo! Please..!" Kenny gripped onto Butter's shirt as he broke down further.
"Get up, please, look at me, stop destroying yourself over it, you couldn't have done anything about what happened to her." He put his arms around Ken, trying to comfort him.
"I should have seen it coming, I let her go with him." Kenny loosened his grip as the thought of that night replayed in his head for the millionth time.
" Ken... you wouldn't have known. Please, stop it." Butter sighed, trying to convince Kenny it wasn't his fault isn't easy. You might as well try wrestling a steak out of a tiger's mouth.
"I deserve to suffer" He whimpered, staring at the floor as sadness turned into anger, "God dammit Leo give it back! You won't let me have my photo, let me have my booze." He screamed at Leo, just wanting to be done already. He didn't want to do this anymore. He couldn't do this anymore.
"No, I won't let you do this to yourself anymore, you've been like this for years, I can't stand to watch you do this anymore." Leo's voice was demanding, like a parent talking to a child in trouble. He can't stand watching the one he loved ruin his life anymore.
"Why do you look so sad, my life is my own fuck up, not yours, I'm not your responsibility. I'm fine, just go away please. I don't want you to see me while I'm like this." Kenny stared at Leo with sad eyes, he just wanted to be alone. He just wanted to suffer.
"If you promise me no more alcohol, you're drunk enough already."
"Fine." Kenny huffed as he stumbled away, leaving Butters alone to think about the events that just transpired.
