Hearts everywhere he looked all he saw were hearts, he felt the need to vomit.
And all these snogging couples, it was just horrible.Scowling, he pressed his Potions book tighter against his chest and left the Great Hall hurriedly.
Why had Dumbledore have to make such a big deal out of this stupid day?
And it was Hogsmeade weekend as well.Yes, Severus Snape was pretty annoyed because of Valentine's Day.
The glitter enchanted fairies and corny songs didn't contribute to lift his spirits.
No, he certainly wouldn't go to Hogsmade, he could do without all the annoying couples.
He couldn't bare to see her with him, that would hurt too much, even though he admitted it very reluctantly.Severus angrily slammed the book on the table of the common room.
He had wanted to do everything right and then he did everything wrong.
She was the only person who really meant something to him, the only one who he, well ... loved, but he pushed her away because he had been so stupid to call her a Mudblood.
Severus should have known that she would never forgive him for that.
He had insulted her viciously.
How could she forgive him for offending her origin, her family, and everything about her?
And now she was understandably angry and she showed quite clearly. He had heard Lily said tell one of her weird friends that he couldn't make it without her and she hoped that he was suffering seeing as she didn't want any kind of contact with him.
Yes, he had stood behind her, he heard of it and tried to act like nothing happened.
But his hands were shaking so he let the book fall in shock, picked it up again and then quickly turned around and went to the boys bathroom. He would never admit it, but he missed her.
He missed spending time with her missed the long conversations that they had.
He missed it all...The town was fantastically decorated, but she didn't really notice it.
Nor that Mike Bloom took her hand.
Everything seemed off somehow far, far away.
She had actually planned to spend Valentine's Day with Severus but now...Lilly was still incredibly angry at him.
Well, she had always known that his views were of rather dubious nature, and she had always had a hard time accepting it, but she finally managed it.
He had never said anything against her and tried to hide his Muggle phobia from her as much as possible. And now?
He had called her a Mudblood in front off everyone.
She winced Involuntarily at the memory.
It still hurt, even after two months."Hey, are you all right?"
"Did you say something?" Lily asked, still thinking about the fight that she had had with Severus.
She had yelled at him, said some really nasty things, and what did he do?He had looked at her silently and didn't say a word.
And now?
She was still incredibly angry, but somehow...somehow she also missed him a lot....Sometimes she wondered if she had been unfair.
The things she had said were bad, one often said things when angry and felt bad about it afterwards.
Despite the anger she was sorry, because she knew that she had hurt him.The pressure on her hand intensified, and she looked confused up at Mike's face, who was looking at her impatiently.
"You're not listening to me at all."
He said reproachfully, and she smiled apologetically."I'm really sorry, I was just in lost in thought. What did you say?"
"Do you want to go to Madam Puddifoot?"
He repeated his question."Yes, for all I care. Let's go there."
Without waiting for a reply, she went on, thinking about Severus again.
She never expected that it would be so hard to give up her friendship with him and now she had to realize that she was barely managing.
Severus had become an important part of her life, he was her best friend.
He was the only one who told her that she was a witch, he had told her about all the magical things of which she knew nothing.
He had always been there, for so many years. And now everything was supposed to be over?
How could he have put their friendship in jeopardy so easily?
It hurt,it hurt a lot.
And she wished so much that she could easily forget what he had said, wished that she could forgive him, but he had hurt her too much.
She was too proud to let him off the hook this easily. The idea, that everyone in the castle knew what had happened between them, was terrible for him.
Not to mention the Marauders, those morons, they of course thought that his and Lily's quarrel was great, and Potter would benefit the most from it.
The whole thing was also somehow the fault of those idiots.
If Potter hadn't angered him, he would never have been so careless to say something like that to Lily.
But that's what he had done, and now he had to pretend as if it didn't bother him that his best friend hated him, unless he wanted to attract more stupid jokes upon himself. And Lily?
She would never know how much he missed her. How much actually missed to just be with her, and that was the worst part. The day seemed endless to her.
She didn't even want to go to Hogsmeade, but she thought that it would be for the best to distract herself.
Now she was finally back at Hogwarts, the day or the evening could only get better.
But when she entered the Great Hall, this seemed not to be the case, because to her misfortune Severus ho was probably just about to leave the Great Hall stood right in front of her.Unsure they stood there facing each other, and Lily could have sworn that all eyes were on her.
She didn't know what to say, how she should behave, she just wanted to run away.
No matter where, the main thing was to get far away from there.
And just at the moment in which she wanted to put this plan into action Severus started to speak. He whispered quiet and difficult to understand, he murmured:
"I miss you"And in that instant she couldn't help herself, she just had to hug him.
No matter who was watching, no matter what he had said, she just couldn't help it.
She missed him too, and somehow, someway they would get trough this...
