the unknowns

chapter 1 : sorting ceremony

It was their first day of Hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardry before they had a different school but were forced to leave. they all stood close in the sorting hat ceremony as they were nervous about what would happen.

"Silence" Dumbledore shouted, creating an echo throughout the great hall until you could not hear a cricket flinch. He then nodded his head to signal to professor McGonagall to start the sorting ceremony.

"Now now" she stated, "when i call your name, you must come to the front" "i will then place this hat on you head and it will say your house. you will then join them at there designated table"

Everybody looked at the first years and the unknowns in amusement, interested to see who would be their new peers.

Obviously the unknowns went first due to their age.

"Holly Newberry" McGonagall bellowed. Holly was an unusual girl with jet-black hair and a smirk for days. She slowly strutted to the hat already knowing what was going to happen. Almost instantly the hat called out SLYTHERIN. Holly then took a brisk turn towards the Slytherin table staring down everyone who'd even glimpsed at her. Next was "Madeleine gimble" McGonagall yelled. Madeleine was a wild girl with an imagination you would die for. Her style proved this as she had mad as a hatter hair and an infectious smile. Mads walked up to the hat nervous as ever. The hat was murmuring to itself confounded with choices due to mads's dark side that she wouldn't dare show. Finally it bawled GRYFFINDOR. Mads smiled eagerly whilst walking to the table being greeted by a ginger also know as Lily Evans.

Then "Lastly for the fifth year, Evie Leons". The whole hall fell silent. Evie's face dropped as she knew why everyone was quiet. Evie was kind and cheerful unlike her family who was feared everywhere. Evie was small for her age with straight brown hair that fell to her shoulders. She shuffled up towards the hat and as the hat was placed upon her head. It yelled out HUFFLEPUFF. relief rushed throughout her body hoping to not interfere into anyone's business and keep to herself.  As Evie was walking to her table she stumbled on James Potter's foot that he purposely shoved in front of her feet. He giggled to himself with glee that he had accomplished something. But then Holly came storming over to him and with all her might punched her fist into his nose. Tears filled his eyes as she had dislocated his face making blood spill onto his face and his glasses cracked on the floor. Whilst mads had ran to Evie and helped her up, Sirius then patted James on the back smirking at holly's cunningness and James's stupidity. All three stood next to one another in the triangle formation looking upon the other students. That's when everyone knew they were a force to be reckoned with.
