There is a child among the leaves
Every passing second he breathes
Nobody notices
Nobody sees
People scream
People cry
People rage
People die
But nobody sees the child among the leaves
They don't notice his tears, his loneliness
They don't see beneath the rumours, beyond the lies
The boy cries and cries and cries
He begins to run, begins to laugh
He hides it all beneath his bravado
He pranks those who shun him
He acts like the sun
But all the while inside he wants to die
He hates them, but he loves them
He doesn''t care, but cares so much
A living paradox
But he is stubborn
He pulls through despite their doubts
Doesn't stop smiling, doesn't stop hoping, doesn't stop dreaming
And it all comes to fruit
One day, the truth is revealed
The boy is a prison to a creature many fear
And people refused to see beyond the beast
But one person told him "I believe in you"
That one person gave him the light, showed him hope
And he grabbed that light like never before
He became the light, the hope, the dreams
He became a hero.
