Cold.

So cold.

The lockers rattle and crash against each other. Spluttering and coughing sounds echo through the hallways as the greenette tries to regain his balance.

All attempts are gone down the drain when a final kick to the stomach has him crashing against the metal.

"..."

".-"

"..-"

Murmurs and loud whispers fall on deaf ears. Forest green locks bounce and drip with sweat as he slowly tries to hoist himself up.

"What the hell?" Ruby irises glare holes through the boy under him, "Why wont you just fucking-"

There's no time to react before the boy is slammed into the wall. He drops in agony and his body jerks and flinches as more pain flares. It explodes in his head with a blinding whiteness. It makes him reel and attempt to groan, but all that comes out is a pathetic whimper.

"Not so fcuking high and mighty now de-ku~?" He slurs mockingly.

Deku.

The nickname rang through his ears.

My name.

"....ku"

"...Izu-"

"IZUKU?"

The high pitched voice registered in his ears and he shot awake. Groaning when his muscles ached from the sudden movement.

"...mom.."

"Izuku you've been asleep for a while now?" Her face etched with concern, "You have school.."

Right.

School.

She slowly moved away, revealing the lavender apron she had tied in a bow behind her back. Inko Midoriya. A short plump woman who always had concern and fear knitted into her features.

"Alright. I'll change."

Her face relaxed and she cautiously closed the door behind her.

The green haired boy threw his head back with a sigh.

"...goddamnit..."

—————————————————————————————————————

Hours past by in a blur. Izuku's mind on autopilot as he worked on the assignment passed out in front of him.

".....doriya applying to UA?"

His gaze snapped suddenly as he registered all of the staring faces snickering at him, before laughter erupted. Bouncing against the walls and echoing as if to mock him. Izuku hid his face in his hands as his face flushed.

"Deeeekuu."

There it is.

Izuku hadn't looked up before a deafening explosion sent him flying backwards. He fell against the wall, and he felt red and blues blooming against his neck, and he groaned feeling his muscles tense and relaxed.

"UA? Your pathetic, quirkless ass?" Katsuki snickered

"I....j-just thought it would be worth a shot... there's no h-harm in trying-"

"No harm in trying? No harm in fucki- You'll DIE the fuck'n ENTERANCE EXAM!" Blood ran through his face and heat pooled in his stomach

His arm raised and small crackles and snaps emitted from his hands before the second bell rang, and the clock struck 3:05.

Katsuki tched, and stepped out.

"You know if you really want a quirk.." Katsuki slowly turned, "Go take a swan dive off the roof and pray you get one in your next life."

It was then that whatever cord Izuku had keeping him together snapped, and he felt sick.

His stomach dropped, and he felt daggers piercing through his lungs. Ripping the skin leaving it to bleed.

His knees gave out and he was left on the tile floor. Eyes wide as saucers as he processed what had just happened.

"..oh.." is all he could muster before heading out.

He went home silently. Not bothering to come out of his room as the words replayed over in his head over and over again.

"...swan dive...off the roof.."

"...well..."

He quickly shut his mouth and felt disgusted that he had even thought about killing himself. Why would he? Mom cared, and sure Katsuki didnt but, it was okay. He'd be the best hero, and everything would be okay

Right?

He wasnt sure what to think anymore.
