"kate, are you sure it's okay if i come?" the girl asked her older sister as they sat in the car.
"if they don't let you stay then they can find a new nanny, your my little sister!" kate replied to y/n
y/n opened her diary, that was placed in her bag. she began looking through her old entrees .
as they pulled up to the house, y/n felt a shiver down her spine.
y/n followed kate out of the car, and she started looking at the outside of the house.
y/n followed kate into the house, "hello? is anyone here?" kate asked while walking in
"oh, you must be kate. and who is this?" the older woman asked. "this is my younger sister, her name is y/n."
"well, i didn't expect another person. but i guess she can stay." the woman spoke, "i'm mrs grose, nice to meet you."
"where's flora?" kate asked "she's at the stables." mrs grose said
y/n sat at the table, while kate went to get flora. she fidgeted with her rings that were on her fingers, y/n wasn't a social person. she usually gets nervous around others, especially people she doesn't know well.
kate came back with a little girl following behind her.
"hi! you must be y/n?" the little girl, said "i'm flora!"
"yes, hi it's nice to meet you!" y/n answered with a small smile.
"let me show you guys around!" flora grabbed kates arm, and y/n followed behind. "this is my room!" the room was nice, with toys all on the floor.
y/n kept quiet, not really talking to flora or kate. "this is my sisters room, her names alice!!" flora spoke.
as the three girls walked into the room, a teenage girl with short brown hair, and brown eyes was sitting on one of the beds in the room. she was reading a book, and humming while reading.
"yes flora,?" alice looked up, "oh! hello, i'm alice. nice to meet you both" she smiled softly. "mrs grose said that y/n will have to stay in here with me," she got up and gave y/n hand shake, and y/n smiled. "also flora, miles sent me a letter," she handed a small envelope to flora.
"who's miles?" kate asked. "miles is the best!" flora replied as she skipped out of the room with her doll in one hand, and the envelope in the other.
"i should probably go follow her," kate said softly,"y/n, try to get to know alice. okay?" y/n nodded.
y/n sat down on the other bed in the room, and it was silent for a while until alice spoke up. "you seem quiet, is everything okay?" alice spoke "i-i guess i just miss my home already." y/n said quietly,"i just miss my friends i guess,"
"well, i hope we will be good friends. i will admit miles can be a bit creepy sometimes, but he is very kind in his own way." she softly said, "i'm not sure when he will be back from boarding school."
y/n started to unpack, while her and alice talked. y/n liked how she could talk to alice without worrying who she would tell, they both felt comfortable around each other.
