so now felix and elliott were in the latter's room, a whole lot of drawing tools scattered across the bed and floor while the two boys sat on the carpet near the desk. elliott had finished outlining the phases of the moon onto felix's right collarbone, and was now coloring in the black parts.

felix was just admiring the other's quick, skilled hand movements in the mirror and trying not to let shivers run down his back everytime elliott's hand brushed against his skin. he was enjoying it a little more than he should've been.

to try and distract himself before his emotions began showing down there, he reached out a hand and touched the long scar below elliott's right ribcage (yeah, both of them were still shirtless).

"how'd you get this?" he asked as he traced it gently with his fingers. elliott tensed a little before relaxing again and continuing working on the 'tattoo'.

"car crash when i was a kid. had it for almost a decade now. hey, you want me to color in the white too? it looks pretty good like this, in my opinion."

elliott moved away and felix checked his reflection. he fell in love immediately with the seven moons and how perfect they looked. they were all almost exactly the same size and shape, which was impressive as elliott hadn't used any stencils when drawing them.

"i like it like this," smiled felix and began helping elliott put the various pens and markers back in their cases. "thanks. i can't stop looking in the mirror!"

he turned around after keeping everything on the desk and to his dismay, elliott had put on the hoodie again.

felix diverted his eyes to the floor as he stood up with a pout and sat down on the bed. elliott joined him soon after, falling back and closing his eyes while a somewhat peaceful expression rested on his face.

"can't you keep the hoodie off?" muttered felix angrily, his voice quiet but elliott and his animalistic senses still heard it.

"oya?" he asked with a small grin, cracking open one eye to see a blush dust across felix's cheeks.

now that he had had an online session with his therapist and was taking his prescriptions as instructed, the voice had disappeared from elliott's head and he could afford to do stuff like flirt without being bombarded with instant regret.

"you look nice when you're shirtless, okay?" defended felix, back to korean for some reason, as he stared at his lap with the pink hue on his face darkening rapidly.

he was snapped out of it when a clothing article landed beside him. it turned out to be elliott's hoodie, and when felix raised his eyes he was yet again met with the sight of elliott's bare chest.

"like what you see?" elliott repeated felix's words from the pool as he lay back down again and patted the spot next to him for felix to lie down on.

"so what if i do?" shot back felix as he rested on his back and tried to ignore his heart hammering away in his chest. uninvited memories of the day when they did the paper kiss challenge began flooding his mind, and he could still recall perfectly the feeling of elliott's lips pressing against his for that one blissful second.

elliott chuckled and didn't do anything more, much to felix's relief and disappointment.

"i just realized we're two shirtless dudes lying beside each other on a bed," whispered felix and he turned his head to the side elliott was on. "this feels kinda gay."

"no homo though, obviously."

elliott also shifted to face felix, and his eyes held a shine to them felix hadn't seen before. he had thought elliott looked happy all the time, but the vibe the boy gave off right then made all the other, previous times seem fake in a way.

the grin elliott normally wore that showed off his teeth was also replaced with a kind of soft, close-mouthed smile that curled up more at the right side than the left. but it seemed much more happy than the one felix now realized was not real.

what are you hiding, elliott?

"i like your freckles," sighed elliott as he noticed the small dots over felix's nose and cheeks. "it's cheesy but i've always thought they're like a . . . a star-map. really, really pretty. constellations. "

"really? j.y.p. usually makes me cover them with makeup."

"j.y.p.'s an idiot. covering your freckles is like dusting off all the cinnamon from cinnamon toast. loses all the magic. anybody who doesn't like and appreciate them is clearly stupid."

yukihime appeared out of nowhere and meowed loudly as if to support what elliott had just said. the boy scratched her chin, letting her curl up under his right arm and rest her head on his torso.

"how old is she?"

"she was a few weeks old when i got her on my nineteenth birthday, and it's been almost a year since then, so . . . fourteen months, i think?"

"oh yeah, your birthday is coming! it's sometime in the second week of november, right?"

"eleventh."

felix felt a mild panic grip him as elliott dulled again, and turned his head to face the ceiling again. had he done something wrong? why did elliott shut down again so suddenly?

"don't you like your birthday?" ventured felix as he basically begged elliott throught his eyes to look at him again, which he did. but now the pools of gray had become nearly black, and elliott's pupils had dialated scarily.

"no, i don't. it's just . . . shit happened a long time ago, okay? and i've not moved on yet."

elliott then fell silent while felix tried to figure out the mysterious reply he had just gotten. elliott had told him he had been in a car crash almost a decade ago . . . did it have something to do with his sudden mood swings?

it seemed he wouldn't find out that day, for elliott mentioned something about being hungry and fled the room, leaving behind a confused felix.
