Pat, Pat, Pat! Quick and fast paced followed sounds that vocalized the pure emptiness of that city. Buildings broken in ruins. Ones that once held glorious accomplishments, failures and progress of business. Homes where people would enjoy themselves and others in topics that raced throughout the day. What should I wear? I'm heading to Prom! This would look great for College! I wonder if I should do this? We need more importations for the new business! Once holding conversations of a millions voices talking at once. However that has diseased downwards to nothing. "Come! Come! Hurry! My dear!" An exhausted male voice called out that shouted backwards. The cracked older version of a now faded red stripped Peppermint in an elegant black colored suit with a violet tie lay on his body. Behind him was another figure that followed them. One that was younger yet older than her own appearance.
Her unique blood pupils glanced forward at the butler however within seconds she glanced back at consuming black aura that slopped into a form of a figure. Her extended black hair flipped to the side of her face before she figured out who it was. Its presence was similar to death himself but more of an abomination that represented a drop of Death's internal coldhearted core. Forming from a horrifying skeleton to ripped cloth that revealed his an ancient body. For the facial area, it only revealed the tortured agony of souls in emerald eyes. His jaw dropped slowly, a puff of iced dark magic exhaled making anyone shutter from the sight and grossing sound. The Lich.. "You cannot escape me, I live in the depths of your nightmares. The cracks of your forgotten dreams, The dark that brings the agony of screams from Death's imprisoned damned souls. The endless stream that follows your shadow's footsteps. You'll never be able to escape, the world you once knew is gone. It's mine now." An inhumane, insane laugh erupted from his stomach that echoed through the city.
Step by step he approached her in a mysterious unknown dark way. His own presence had brought back torturing memories that had shattered her mind. Something that she could never forget in her life. As if it were an irritating splinter her mind that she wanted to pull out and let it heal over time but she knew it would never happen. A portal expanded behind the dark form quickly tugging the form then taking the mass piece by piece. His ripped clothes tore away from the forces of the portal behind him. "ARGHHH!" His aggressive frozen hell like voice screamed out. Arms bent out and tried to grip while forcing himself on the stone floor.
The young 27 year old ran towards the Candy Butler as quick as she could. His fingers reached towards the dark figure. His eyes a shade of darken raisin with a levitating enlarged book filled with numerous ancient texts and spells. "I can only hold him off for so long, Marceline! You have to leave now!" His voice yelled outwards. "You have to remember what I told you about the spell! You have to recite it!" "My magic isn't!.." Her voice called out but was interrupted by the sound of his voice and aggressive roars of the Lich slowly stomping on the floor to reach closer. "Marceline! You have to do it! This world can still be saved! It can still breathe with life! Now please go!". The 27 year old nodded and realized what she had to do. She could still prevent the accident from happening, from this world being ever born. From The Lich. Her fingers roamed her neck and held on to a necklace. Purity, Love and Light were the only things the necklace had given her. A Red Crescent Moon shaped ruby.
On the inside was a liquid she couldn't live without. Something had cherish for years and years passed on. A liquid extremely rare and precious to her mind, her heart and lastly her own soul. Blood. Human blood. The ruby had an exotic and eye catching design on it which was similar to a stem and roots of a rose. A moment of remembrance and flashbacks crossed her mind.
She wanted to live in them again to be able to simply stay then never come back to where she was now. Instantly she reached her hand to her right side. Harden iron of an instrument formed from her own dark aura, blood red coated steel with four unbreakable metallic strings. Grasping her fingers upon the cleansed instrument she played with it for a few moments, twirling it in a circular motion then lifted the axe with both hands. Attempting to slice the space in front of her the sharpen blade sliced downwards tearing the fabric of reality. A large hole that revealed a brighter, warmer area filled with life that she hadn't experienced in years. It was comforting to feel on her cold skin however before glancing back she had felt a part of her heart shatter, a small piece of her soul was torn. It was Peppermint Butler. A large darken skeleton like hand held him up before a blacken shard entered his chest causing bits of candy to instantly break off.
"He's mine now Marceline!" The figure said in a tone that she had never forgotten. Anger and sadness had consumed the vampire as she held the fretboard of her bass axe tightly. She wanted to destory The Lich for destorying the world she had once enjoyed, her close companions like Bonnibel, Jake , Fionna and Marshall, for killing her lover Finnegan the Hero of Ooo and now her long termed best friend Peppermint Butler. Enraged with pure anger her blade and body began to form a blackish red aura that slowly grew in energy however before she began to make a decision to kill The Lich or enter the portal. Pepperment Bulter coughed blood began to flow from his lips on the fingers of The Lich as his eyes began shine a lumious blue color. "M-Marcy! G-Go!" He yelled as his voice rose in a spell he was speaking as a final defense.
The vampire felt a tear run down her eye as she nodded as his final request. She didn't want to leave him there however she had to. She had to do what he wanted no matter how difficult it was. "Peppermint Butler!" She yelled out however he glanced at her mumbling words that she couldn't understand until an explosion had pushed her inside the portal into the live grass. "NOO!" She said as then portal slowly closed and Peppermint Butler disappeared and pushed The Lich against a wall. A ruined wall that forced an entire building to collaspe on him.
Marceline was exhausted from the battle, from the time was there and lastly the amount of blood she had needed to survive for so long. She hadn't any idea how she endured for years on due to the extreme conditions her body suffered from. Her eyes closed slowly forcing her body to shut down and fall on the rough patch of grass until she heard a familiar female voice.
"Marceline..?" The figure questioned as more footsteps approached her. "Send her to the medical bay at once!" The converations after that was a blur and she finally rested from a life of Hell.
