~ Captain America and Tony's little weakness ~

A day that changed everything

"Come on sleepyhead wake up, otherwise you'll be late for college and I won't tolerate this" says Pepper pointing at me. "Just only 10 more minutes ,mom"
"You already are very late the jet is leaving in 20 minutes! How did you even manage to oversleep?"
"It was your idea to watch Pretty Women last night! And besides why didn't Jarvis wake me up?" I really wondered because he never misses that. "Your dad shut him down for a few hours because of some new updates he wanted to make." she answers and go into the kitchen. I was so tired and know I shouldn't have stayed up so late.

I got up very quickly as I know that dad would kill me if I miss my lectures again. Yes I know ,AGAIN' but I wasn't responsible for the last time! I couldn't take the elevator because it was being repaired and Steve and Sam had gathered in the stairwell and there was literally no chance of me climbing up to the top where the jet was waiting for me.

"Come on mom please don't give me that look. Don't worry I won't oversleep again!" I was really disappointed when I said that because it feels like she knows that I am not feeling great. And I hate being judged. It really isn't my fault that I have to wake up so early every second morning because my dad doesn't want me to go to an ordinary college in New York. It has to be two and a half hours away.

"Ok, go now Francis won't wait any longer!" She mutters and gives me a kiss on the forehead. As expected Francis was waiting for me. "Good morning ,Lu. Did you sleep well?" he asks nicely. "No I didn't, I was too busy watching ,Pretty Woman' with mom." We both laugh and then buckle up for the ride.

It was quite a boring day. When I got home Jarvis was alive again... good for me! I have to admit he is my only friend when I'm home and I'm pretty lost without him. "Good afternoon, Lu. How was college today?" asks Jarvis politely when  I'm about to get out of the jet. "It was okay!"

I was laying on the couch for a few hours watching some documentaries which we had to watch for our next project in physics when I finally got up and opened the door to my room and saw a beautiful long dark green dress laying on my bed. I was shocked because it looked gorgeous. There was a note saying
"for our little princess, from mom and dad. We know it's a little too early to decide what you want to wear for your birthday but we think it's better too early than too late"
I was really excited I literally had no words. I instantly put the dress on.

I just couldn't believe how breathtaking it looked on me. In order not to miss the moment of confidence I went to the kitchen and made some coffee and put it on a tray. "Jarvis where is my dad?" I asked. "55th floor in the conference room." he informed me.

I immediately got in the elevator and when it stopped on the 55th floor I proudly walked towards the conference room. The hallway was empty no living soul. I knew that because it was 7pm and all the employees and agents finish at 5pm. So I was sure that my dad is alone.

The conference room was the last one on the left side of the hallway. I hesitated for a moment if I should knock before entering but I decided not to. So I opened the door and started talking. By the way there was a short corridor you had to walk through before finally arriving in the room.
"You know something? I always thought that there will never be a day in your life when you spend your money properly. But I was wrong! Because this is the most beautiful gift I've received in my whole life." Half the way through I dropped my phone.
"Shit! - The thing is I never thought I would get it from you!"
Now I arrived in the room with a elegant twist while muttering "I got us some coffee t-"

I stand there looking into the questioning faces of the avengers and don't dare to say a word.
My dad was the first one to break the awkward silence. "I told you that secretary employees are not allowed to rush into my meetings !" He shouts that so angrily and loud that I winced.
"Stop being so rude ,Tony! The poor girl is -" starts Natasha but I interrupt her.
"No it's just fine! I'll go now. Sorry dad."
I just wanted to go when I realise what I've just said...
