"She was my wings,
that brought me the walls
and showed me all the blank space
with no more walls,
she said 'there,
your destiny is canvas,
go fill it."~Atticus

Chapter 3
Arabella exhales softly, "I'll always be on your side, you know that. But, my point is that you shouldn't compare Elle and me. I'm your best friend, talking to you is a need. Elle is your girlfriend and she probably misses you like crazy but..." she bites her lip in thought as she thinks about how many times she noticed Elle staring at the pictures of Noah in her room when she would come to Arabella for something. There was always that longing and heartache in her eyes. And Arabella could relate but it's the heartache that was a mystery to her. It wasn't like Noah broke up with Elle.
"You trust me, right?" Arabella asks out of the blue.
"You know I do," Noah doesn't hesitate in saying that, "Why?"
"You are going to talk to her later. Ask her. If she doesn't give you straight answers, then I will resort to some extreme measures."
The worry and stress in Noah's eyes drains away at his best friend's words before he lets out a chuckle. He already knew what she had in mind and he also knew that she will succeed. She always does.
"What will I do without you?" He asks fondly as he thinks about all the times she had his back. About all the times she was there when he needed her, and she always delivered.
FLASHBACK
"What? Your brother is too of a little bitch to fight his own battles?" The boy teased in a baby voice before noticing Noah's clenched fists, "What are you going to do tough guy, huh?"
"Hey, asshole," A ten-year-old Arabella says from behind a boy that had pushed Lee and called him a bitch. And he was goading Noah to start a fight with him. Noah was standing in front of Lee and Elle, and he was holding himself back from punching the guy because he already had gotten in a fight last week, if he does again, so soon, then his parents will have a fit.
"Oh, hey, pretty girl, do you—" the dumb kid said as he turns around but Arabella didn't give him chance to finish his sentence as she snaps her arm out, and her fist lands perfectly on his eye before she knees him between his legs, hard.
"Well, he was going to beat the crap out of you but I got there first. Now scram before I give you another blue eye."
When the boy wobbled away like a scaredy-cat with his tail tucked between his legs, Noah turns to Arabella with a grateful smile, "Your parents are going to be pissed if they find out."
"We're taking turns aren't we." She smirks before taking Elle's and Lee's ice-cream for her and Noah.
***
"Noah!" Arabella growls angrily and points as she sees Tuppen slap her sister's ass.
"What the fuck?" Noah and Arabella were already speed-walking towards them when Lee threw a punch towards Tuppen only for him to catch Lee's fist and twisted it before letting it go.
That was when Noah and Arabella sprint towards them. They already knew that this was going to get physical and when Tuppen moved his shoulder back, a sign that he was going to give a hard punch, Noah made it just in time to slam his fist into the side of Tuppen's face before holding Tuppen's struggling form against him.
