Naruto's POV

"Hey!~ Sasuke-Kun~" I jerk my head up from my thoughts and see Sakura jogging towards our usual meeting spot; eyes set on Sasuke.

"Hn." Is all she gets back.

I personally like Sakura, but not in the romantic way. She can be a good friend and Teammate- but I have this suspition she doesn't like me all that much..

"Hey Sakura-chan!" I smile my usual smile and walk over to her from my spot next to Sasuke waving. My smiles aren't usually this big around people other than my close friends though, like Gaara, Sasuke, and Shikamaru. It hurts if I smile too much, and the big smiles don't help, but I love all of my friends so I love smiling.

Sakura glares annoyed at me, "Why were you by my Sasuke-kun! You'll infect him with your arrogance!" She screams at me. I flinch/wince at the loudness in her voice, I mean, does she have to be that loud? I'm right in front of her- and now she's latched herself to Sasuke's arm.

Sasuke sighed. He looked like he wanted to punch Sakura in the face for invading his personal space. I don't blame him.

As I was about to say something, Kakashi sensei shows up, "Yo." He waves to us. He was holding his Icha Icha paradise in his other hand.

"YOU'RE-" "OH MY GOD SHUT THE HELL UP!" it's silent for a moment after Sasuke-Teme's little outburst. Sakura looks distraught and Kakashi looks like he was about to pee himself. Me? Well, I was trying to hold my laughter, but failed miserably.

"HAHAHAHA! Sasuke-Teme must have been really fed up! HAHA!" I wipe a tear from my eye holding my stomach as I try to ignore the pain in my throat.

Sasuke blushes in embarrassment and looks at the ground with a mumble, "Usuratonkachi.." (A/N- okay- what does Usuratonkachi even mean?)

"Okay... Today we have a mission!" Kakashi says. I tilt my head to the side in confusion, "What kind of mission?" I ask softly, not wanting to use my regular voice. It hurt to much to talk so I'm going to tone it down a bit. I got hurt last night by one of the villagers and I used my voice to try to tell them to stop, but it just wore out my vocal cords.

Sakura and Kakashi looked at me weirdly for a moment and I started to get uncomfortable, "What?..." I question softly again. "I had a screaming contest with Konahamaru and I wore my voice out!" I tried to speak loudly for my lie, but it just ended up croaky. I don't know how I managed to laugh up a storm earlier.

"It's a C-Rank! Sort of.." Kakashi trailed off. I silently cheered in my head that we had a C-Rank instead of a D-rank. On the outside, I smiled a big smile and chuckled.

"What do you mean 'sorta' Kakashi Sensei?" Sakura's squeeky voice came. Sasuke scowled, but nodded. I guess he just doesn't like her voice. I think it's kinda nice when she's not screaming. I smiled at my thought.

"Well, we are going on a 3 week escort mission, but with Kurenai's team, Asuma's team, and Gai's team." Kakashi explains. (A/N- I've seen a lot of stories about this type of thing, but I wanna be kind of original, sooo.. I'll shut up now.)

We all stare at him with confusion written on our faces. I spoke, "Why do we need all of rookie 9 to escort someone? Who is this person anyway?" I cross my arms with a pout on my face.

Sasuke 'hn's and Sakura nods in agreement. "Well... We have to escort Tazuna again- but there will be more people with him, including Inari." My eyes lit up when he said Inari.

"What other people sensei?" Sakura asked. Kakashi sighs and rubs the back of his neck nervously. "We have to ask lady Tsunade. She didn't tell me all the details, just that I need to bring my cute little genin's to the her office. Be there in five minutes." Then he disappeared in a poof of smoke.

I jump up from were I was sitting on the railing and stretch my limbs, "well, we better get going if we want to get there on time! Let's go!" I point in the way of the Hokage's tower and start to walk. Sasuke smiled a little and walked with me. We heard a faint, "Wait up!" Then Sakura caught up with us.

We were almost to the tower when I started to feel unaturaly sad. It was like I wanted to cry, but I had no clue why?

'Hey, Kura-nii?..' I ask in my mind.

A few seconds later, he answers, 'Yeah kit?' I stay silent for a moment until I have to curage to speak. 'I... I wanna cry... And I don't know why..'

'What do you mean? Did one of the villagers say something mean?' I shake my head, 'No.. I just feel sad.. Should I tell Sasuke and Sakura?' I was seriously thinking about telling Sakura about how I really act. She wasn't the best with other people's feelings, but she was my friend and my teammate so she should know.

Sasuke has been my closest friend, and maybe even my crush- sense the academy. I could tell him anything and he wouldn't judge me. He even knew I had contact with Kurama and just said, 'Thats really cool to be honest.' and even asked to meet him! Of course Kurama didn't like him at first, but he warmed up to him.

When I get done with my thoughts, I notice that we are infront of the Hokage's tower. I'll tell them I'm feeling down after we're done getting info and meeting the clients.

I barge in the Baa-Chan's office with a big smile. I'm still feeling sad, but I'll just tell my sadness to stick it' for now.

"HEY~! BAA-CHAN!" I wince a little as my throat develops a sting. All of the other teams got here before us.

Baa-Chan sighs, "About time you got here. Your a minute late." She crosses her hands and puts them under her chin. I tilt my head, isn't that Sasuke-Teme's job?

I hear Ino huff, "Ugh. If naruto is going to yell the whole time we're on this mission, I'm going to rip his vocal cords out." I flinched, I knew she meant it as a joke, but it still kind of shocked me.

I reasure in my quiet raspy voice, "Its alright Ino-chan! It kind of hurts to talk anyway, haha!" I rub the back of my neck with a grin on my face. Sasuke looks at me with sort of a concern in her eyes. I could feel it.

Everyone except Sasuke and Shikamaru sighed in relief. Okay, that one hurt my heart a little bit.

I Swallowed a lump that formed in my throat and move my hand up to my heart. I was trying my best to not cry infront of all of my friends right now.

Sasuke secretly put his hand on my back and rubbed it in a comforting way. I look back at him with a small grateful smile. He smiles a little too, you could barely even tell it was there, but I knew it was.

We all turn our heads to the door when a knock arrives. It slowly opens to show Tazuna, Inari and... Shoot.. they weren't supposed to be here..
