Shikamaru's POV

I walk into the Living room with a tray of tea, when I see naruto and sasuke in a mess of limbs. Now I'm asking myself, 'What happened while I was making tea? I know I'm a slow tea maker, but still.'

Sasuke sits up and puts his forehead to Naruto's, "Are you okay now?" He asks. Naruto smiles, "I think. Thanks Sasuke."

I'm offended! He didn't- "You too Shika." Oh. I just smile.

"I forgot he was here." Ugh! How dare he! Wait. He's an Uchiha.

Naruto adjusts himself and lays his head on Sasuke's chest, "I'm gonna take a nap." Oh my god his expression was priceless!

"What time is it?" Sasuke whispers after naruto drifts into a slumber. I'm guessing he doesn't want to wake Naruto up. I look at the clock on the wall and hum, "it's about an hour before noon."

I see him about to get up and sigh, "I'll get our stuff. You just lay there with the troublesome blonde and get some rest too." I wave my hand and walk to the door. Sasuke stops and moves back into a more comfortable spot; careful not to wake his sleeping beauty. He sighs and closes his eyes.

I grin a little and step out of the house, closing and locking the door behind me.

As I'm walking to the Uchiha compound, I come across Sakura, Ino and Hinata. They look to be gossiping about something, how troublesome.

Oh no, they spot me- "Hey Shikamaru!" Sakura yells waving her hand in the air. I sigh.

I wave, "Hello." And try to keep walking. "Were are you going Shikamaru?" Ino grabs my arm.

I turn to face her, "The Uchiha compound." I say with an eye roll. I really did not have time for this.

The three girls eyes widen. Sakura shouted, "Really?! Why?! Did something happen to my Sasuke-kun?!"

"Your Sasuke-kun?! He's mine billboard brow!"

"No way Ino pi-"

"Shut up already! Geez... Girls are such a drag." I sigh. "Im going to the compound because I told the duck butt I would get his stuff for him. He and Naruto rough housed and now his leg 'Hurts too much for him to walk.'" I explained/Lied in an annoyance. Who knew I was such a good lier?

The two pair of banchees are quiet for a good while until one says, "Can we go with you? It been a while since I've been to the Uchiha compound-"

"You have never been to the Uchiha compound Sakura. And no, you guys can't go. You need to get ready for yourselves." I turn around and wave them off, "Bye." And they don't stop me.

A few minutes later I arive at the compound. It looked kind of weird, and dark, but that is to be expected of the Uchiha.

Sasuke's house should be around here... There!

I sigh in relief as I finally find Sasuke's house. I quickly walk up the steps and open the rusty door, seeing as I only have about 30 minutes until it's time to head to the gate.

I don't waste my time looking at the decor and go straight to Sasuke's room. How do I know where his room is? Well. When you've been around Naruto for a while, you realize he might tell you every. single. detail about duck butt.

That is if you listen long enough.

As I enter, I see a bag on the bed in the middle of the room. I make my way over to it, pick it up, and sling it over my shoulder.

Something catches the corner of my eye as Im about to make my departure. I look fully towards it to see a framed picture of naruto and sasuke above Sasuke's bed labeled, 'My Best Friend'. In the picture, naruto had his arm around Sasuke's neck and smiling at the camera while holding it in a selfie position. Sasuke had a slight smile and a was doing a peace sign.

It looked to be that they were on one of the Hokage heads, looking out to the village.

It was nice.

I smiled, and continued my journey out of the house.

Once I got back to Naruto's, I quietly entered and set Sasuke's bag by Naruto's. I glanced at my watch then back at the two cuddling broken kids. I look down and sigh.

"Hey, it's time to go to the gate." I gently shake them. They slowly open their eyes and get up from another, though it looked like they didn't want to.

"Morning sleepy heads." I put my hands on my hips.

"G'morning Shika.." Naruto rubs his eyes sleepily. Sasuke 'Hn's and stands up to stretch.

"Is it time to go?" Naruto stands up as well. I nod, "if it wasn't, you would still be sleeping." I roll my eyes and pick up my bag. I see Sasuke and Naruto both do the same.

I'm actually surprised there not lovers yet.

We all head out, two of us tired. You might guess, Naruto and Sasuke. Well, no. It's me and Sasuke. Naruto is FULL of energy. When he wakes up, he wakes up.

On our way to the gate, I ask, "What do you guys think is going to happen?" Naruto tilts his head, "What do you mean?" I sigh, "The mission." "Oh.."

Sasuke huffs, "I think it's going to be similar to our mission to the hidden mist." I frown and look at him, "And why is that?" I knew the details of the mission because that's all that the two talked about a week after they got back.

"Well, it might be a little different Sasuke. I mean, this time, Trabua and Drenica are with us, you know?" Naruto puts his hands behind his head. His eyes casting a sad look.
"Yeah, your right." Sasuke sighs. "It's going to be way different with them around trying to kill you."

My eyes widen. "Trying to kill Naruto?" Sasuke nods, "Yeah. If you haven't already noted, they are after the Kyuubi. Who they have named Miyuubi Haruto." His eyes narrow.

"It does sound a lot like Kyuubi Naruto.. I'm surprised Lady Hokage haven't noticed yet." I narrow my eyes as well.

Naruto smiles, "Well! I'm sure that if they try to get at me, you guys will have my back! Ttebayo!" I smile too, and so does Sasuke. Naruto's smile is contagious.

"Definitely. We won't let them hurt you." Ducky says. I nod.

Once we near the gate, we realize that everyone was there. Even Kakashi.

"You guys are late!" Sakura yells. "Actually Sakura-chan, we are right on time!" Naruto grins proudly. Me and Sasuke nod.

Sakura sees Sasuke's nod, "Well, if Sasuke-kun says you guys aren't.." she's cut off, "Everyone ready?" Kurenai sensei shouts.

All of us nod and some say yes. "Alright! Then I guess it's time to go now for the power of youth!" Gai shoots his fist in the air. Lee following suit.
