MISCONCEPTION

chapter 4

I left the hotel, headed back home, as confused as anything.

I was about opening the door, when I over heard voices.

I recognized the first voice.

It was my mum's.

But I couldn't really recognize the other voice.

It was a male voice though

I leaned against the door.

To get what they were saying clearly.

"Mr Ben, hope we are clear on everything? I hope you know what you're supposed to do?"

He said timidly.

"Yes, ma'am. I understand. What about your daughter?"

She yelled.

"That's not what you came here to do, Ben! Look at me! You are here to read the will. That's it!."

He startled and stammered.

"O--ohkay., but w--w--what about us? I---I mean, our plan."

He said.

Frpom the way he spoke, I could tell he was rather confused."Look, Ben, once this is over, we wll be together. Okay, we'll take all the properties, and travel overseas to spend the rest our lives together, okay? But first we've got to get past this hurdle."

"All right then."

He replied.

I was stunned.

I placed my hands on my mouth.

I was so shocked at what I heard.

Different thoughts ran through my mind.

I couldn't hold back the tears.

"I've been deceived the whole time. I--I don't get it, so, Mr. Dan was right after all? She killed him, now she wants to elude with all his properties. No, no , no, I can't let this happen, I can't."

I mumbled under my breath.

I quietly turned back, and headed towards the gate.

I brought out the complimentary card and dialed the number written on it.

Three rings later, he picked.

"Hello, Mr Dan."

"Hey, lassie."

"Where do we meet?"

Clamping my fists.

"The Royale Cuisine besides the hotel we met yesterday."

"Alright, then."

I hung up.

My eyes were a bit red, and my face was a little bit pale.

My hands were shaking, but I didn't mind.

I had a very big matter to handle.
