'Monoma Rina?' I remember her. My brother mentioned that name yesterday. This must be his friend who has the Copying quirk.

"O-Oh, hello!" I say cheerfully. "If I may ask, why isn't Kouki here? He said he would be."

The beautiful blonde giggles. "He decided that it would be nice for us to meet beforehand."

"Wait- so does training start today?" I ask, unaware of our current situation.

"Yep!" she says, popping the 'puh' sound at the end of her response.

Why would this kind girl be willing to do this for me? Sure, she knows my brother, but she doesn't know me. I'm not deserving of this.

"Okay, Miss Monoma. Uhm... I can't help but wonder, why are you doing this? What's in it for you?" I ponder. I hope that didn't sound too rude.

Her high-pitched giggle fills my ears once again. "Dear, skip the formalities. Just call me Rina, okay? And there's no catch to this, I just wanted to meet my best friend's little sis. We are like family now!"

"Oh, I'm sorry for assuming-" I am cut off by Rina.

"No need to dwell on the past. No offense was taken. Dear, why don't you follow me?" She starts walking away, not giving me a choice. 'I guess I'm really doing this.'

I follow Rina for about three blocks. The air is warm and humid, as if rain is about to come. We make small talk along the way, and I learn that Rina's favorite color is turquoise, and that she really loves Labradors.

When she announces that we have reached the destination, I'm taken aback, to say the least. We were standing in front of a large white brick house, with marble accents. This was by far the most impressive house you had ever seen.

"Come in, [Y/N]-chan! Your brother is already here" Rina exclaims. I take note of my brother's pair of shoes at the entry, but I also see a pair of grey sneakers. Extra shoes, probably.

I slip off my sandals and set them neatly next to my brother's. Rina follows suit, and I am led into a grand foyer. High ceilings, pristine furniture, and grey wooden slabs are the first things I notice.

"Let me show you our basement, that's where Kouki is currently, and where we will be training."

We make our way into the basement, and I see Kouki stretching his biceps. Rina starts chatting with him, and I feel strangely out of place. 'I shouldn't be here. I don't deserve to be here.' The voices in my head repeat the same sentences.

"[Y/N]. [Y/N]! [Y/N]!" I snap my head in the voice's direction. I see two pairs of brown eyes staring at me, worriedly.

I zone back into reality.

"What's up?" I hum.

"You haven't been listening, hm? Heh, typical [Y/N]" my brother teases.

"Anyways, I was explaining Rina's quirk, but I'd rather you go against her without knowing it!" Kouki sang.

What the fuck? How could I, a fourteen year-old, face a lady who know how to use her quirk? I guess I'll try my best.

I stand on the blue foam mat that covers a portion of the floor. Keeping in mind that I have no experience in any type of combat, I plan to rely on my quirk.

As Rina ties up her hair into a quick, messy bun, my heart starts to race. I feel a burning sensation in my head, and I can't tell if it's anxiety or excitement. I've never used my quirk in a way to affect others, would it even work?

I hear my brother count down from three.

"Three. Two. One. Begin!" Kouki hollers.

Rina charges at me, her eyes boring through my soul. I have to think quickly. Either her quirk is only useful in close ranges, or it involves me. I decide to back away as far as I can, and when she starts to corner me, I kick the back side of her shins, causing her to fall.

Bad idea.

Rina spring back up, and starts to levitate me. 'What- how does that happen? Was she not using her quirk before? Was she going easy on me?'

I struggle to escape Rina's invisible grasp. I look around in the basement. There was a pool table, and a leather couch with an end table that had a newspaper on it. There was a small kitchenette that consisted of a few cabinets and drawers. There was a sink and a mini fridge. 'Perfect.'

I use my quirk to burst the pipes in the sink. Water begins spewing out uncontrollably. I manipulate the liquid and splash Rina in the face with a discernible amount of force. This causes her to lose the grip on me, and I drop to the floor. While she's off guard, I grab onto her wrists, and with the help of my quirk, I slam her over my head and onto the floor, effectively causing her to lose consciousness.

I release all of the tension built up in my body. Then it hits me. What the hell just happened?

I scream. I scream loud enough to cause a disturbance through the neighboring houses.

"Rina! Oh my god, Rina?" I yelp.

"Rina? I'm so sorry I didn't mean t-" I'm cut off by Kouki.

"[Y/N], relax. You didn't kill her, just caused her to black out for a minute. You did great!"

"Great? Great!? I hurt somebody! I- I need to get out of here" I state.

Carefully, I sprint up the stairs and out the front door of the Monoma household. My bare feet crushing the plush grass with every footstep I take. Eventually, I reach a small pond. I see small ducklings following their mother.

'Calm down, [Y/N]. She tried to hurt you! It was self defense!' I don't believe myself. No matter how well I target the thought that cause me such pain, I'm unable to. I just need an escape front the thoughts that flood my senses.
