Warm Mission

Tanjiro and Kanao we're sent on a mission. Originally it was meant for Inosuke and Zenitsu but Inosuke was still healing (even if he acted alright and sturdy his injuries prevented him from going on missions) and Zenitsu was to scared to go alone, he whined to Tanjiro and said he would go if he brought Nezuko but Tanjiro refused even if it was his bestfriend, it didn't matter anyway because Nezuko was in her deep sleep once again and if Zenitsu had gotten injured she wouldn't be able to save him. So the crow told Kanao that she was now in charge of the mission and needed a partner to bring with her. She went straight to Tanjiro and asked him. Tanjiro agreed, so in an orderly fashion, they're heading off.

The hike was rather silent. They didn't make eye contact: they both looked at their shoes or looked up at the path. They both arrived to their destination and quickly hid they're presence, it was already night so the demons should be out by now. Finally a demon that had five eyes, no legs, patched up skin that was a salmon color, came out of his hiding place.
"In know you're around here demon slayers, just come out already!" the demon croaked. Kanao got up from her hidding place and quickly ran towards the demon, and obvious counter attack would come from the demon leading her to jump over the demons attacks. Tanjiro could see a clear opening. He ran straight to it and aimed, but it didn't work, the demon had teleported behind him. "I'm behind you~" said the demon in a scary sing songy voice. Kanao blocked the demons attack while Tanjiro tried to create another thread to his neck. He finally was ready to launch his attack and jumped straight to his neck, his neck was tougher than the boulder, lucky for Tanjiro and Kanao they both had experiences with these type of demons. Kanao thought of Shinobu and how before she left she offered to take the mission instead because she was worried this would happen. Kanao and Tanjiro switched swords to distract the demon and Tanjiro used Kanaos sword to strike, the demon was only paying attention to him because he seemed to have this skill for finding openings. But before the sword could even graze the demons neck, Kanao came from the side and quickly cut off the demons neck. The fight was over. Kanao and Tanjiro stared at the head, "What do we do now?" Kanao asked him,
"I dunno, should we leave?"
"Sure!" Kanao and Tanjiro left off to find a way back.

It didn't work out well since Tanjiro found himself stuck in a cave with Kanao. "Ah- I think we went the wrong way." Tanjiro muttered.
"No, you went the wrong way" Kanao said with a stricter voice than usual just to hide the fact that she was scared.
"Im sorry!~ Please forgive me Kanao-chan!" Tanjiro pleaded looking at Kanao with puppy dog eyes.
"Fine i'll forgive you just this once, but how will we get out of here?" she reassured with her usual soft calm voice which made Tanjiro feel more relaxed.
"Lets just go out the way we came in!" they both marched to what they thought would be the exit.
"Tanjiro... could you explain why theres a boulder in the entrance?"
"Uh- it's no biggie! I can cut right through it! Leave it to me!" Tanjiro stated. He quickly got to position and attempted to slice through the boulder, when he looked up, he saw that it hadn't even budged. Kanao took Tanjiro's sword and tried it herself, it still didn't budge.
"I guess where stuck here." Tanjiro told Kanao,
"And whose fault is that?" Kanao looked teasingly at Tanjiro.
"I thought you forgave me!~" Tanjiro said once again in a whinny tone.

They both found a comfortable corner and sat down, "It's pretty cold." Tanjiro muttered.
"Ah here you can use my haori to cover yourself up if it's to cold." Kanao said taking off her haori and offering it to Tanjiro.
"No that would be rude to take something off a girl just because i'm cold!" Tanjiro rejected Kanao's haori offer. They could see that the small cracks between the boulder and cave entrance were still dark, meaning it was still night. Tanjiro scooted over to Kanao and whispered in her ear "What if we stay close to each other? You know to not get cold."
"Uh- oh okay sure?" Kanao was a little embarrassed to be so close to a boy, especially Tanjiro. Tanjiro put his on top of her hand, Kanao was startled and Tanjiro's excuse was that it kept them warmer.
