It was almost ready. The aerie was cleaned and painted, I had groomed Abraxos, and a basket of food sat ready to be eaten. The scarred wyvern seemed to understand the importance of the situation, and he had allowed me to place a saddle on his back in preparation for Manon's arrival. In true Manon fashion, she arrived at 11:45 instead of noon, but I was ready.

"Do you want to go for a ride? We can bring the basket." I had saved my magic the past few days for this shift. 

"I'm assuming this has something to do with all of the secrecy lately?" Her temper showed in her golden eyes, making them appear like a boiling vat of metal. 

"Sort of," I said, barely concealing my excitement. "I'll explain once we get there."

"Get where?" oh, she was really annoyed now. 

"You'll see." I shifted into a beautiful navy wyvern that I had imagined but never transformed into. I took off and waited for her to follow.
