Note: All puns in this fic are puns that Elesa actually said at one point or another!

Elesa kept nervously glancing out the cargo plane's windows. She could hardly see a thing through the storm. "We're almost there, right?"

"Yep! Twist Mountain is just a hop, skip, and a jump away! We'll land soon." Skyla's hands moved among the controls gracefully, almost a dance. Elesa was familiar with the elegance of the runway, but never thought of the elegance of a pilot, until she met Skyla.

Elesa looked out again. Rain droplets streamed across the windows, lit gold by the plane's lights. Electricity was second nature to her, yet up in the sky like this, Elesa feared seeing lightning.

"To pass the time until we land, why don't you tell me a joke?" Skyla said. "A new one." The plane tipped forward, in a gradual descent. How could Skyla see, even with lights?

Elesa pushed such thoughts aside and considered her options. "Well, okay, how's this? What do you call a storm of pokemon?"

"What?" A strand of hair fell onto Skyla's face. She tried unsuccessfully to blow it away.

Elesa gently tucked it behind Skyla's ear. "A pokemonsoon."

Skyla groaned. "That's awful."

"Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry," Elesa said. "Maybe I should've kept my Meowth shut."

Skyla stifled a laugh. "Alright, alright, enough. Look out the window again."

Elesa looked up and was surprised. "I see the ground!" As they descended, Elesa couldn't look away. Instead of never-ending masses of roiling grey clouds, there were trees and roads, coming closer into view. The lights of buildings cut through the rain in crisscrossing paths.

Skyla landed the plane so smoothly Elesa almost didn't feel it. After they finally came to a stop, Skyla turned to Elesa, face flushed with excitement. "Wasn't that thrilling?"

"Electrifying," Elesa said, and, unable to resist any longer, leaned forward and kissed her.
