Ryhe thought that today would be just a plain normal day in Dragons' keep. But he, for one thought wrong. Who knew somehow he'd find a young mortal girl, who would cause all cha- Let's not get into that detail right now. Let's start off....

Just like usual, I woke up. I mean, you usually wake up. This time, it was unusually later.

"Crap!" I said, sitting up and rubbing my eyes, a streached  my wings, which felt good, although they were sore. "I'm going to be soooo late for the meeting, father is going to kill me!" I got of of bed, and put on my royal dragon outfit. I looked in the mirror and put on my crown, just barley missing my horns, and hurried out of my room.

As I reached the meeting I sighed, and slowed down. I opened the door, and there was an angry green dragon.

"You missed the meeting, son" He said with an angry growl. I bowed my head.

"I know, I'm sorry father..."

"Sorry doesn't help us with the war." He said, and I met his glare. "I suppose you better grab your sword." He said, and I looked confused at him.

"My sword? Father, I don't have a sword." I said and he chuckled.

"You will use your Mothers' then." He said.

"O-okay... Why exactly do I need it?"

"There is a young mortal in Dragons' keep, and you are to kill her." My father said, with distaste.

"Why me? Why not Rue-At-Halin? Over, and over again he has proven he is far worthy at fighting than I ever will be." I said. My father roared. I didn't cower.

"Rue is not my son, and this will show your loyalty to me." He said.

I scowled. "Sometimes you sure act like Rue is your son" I mumbled.

"Just go and find her already, Rhye." He said with an annoyed sigh.

"Okay, Okay, I'm going!" I said, and turned tail and left. I wondered what this mortal was like. I've never met a mortal, yet alone knew how one acted! There weren't many Mortals in Dragons' keep, my mother was the last one to be accepted into here. As I approched the swords place, or what ever it is called. I heard a soft giggle. I knew who it was.

"You can't hide from me Etemir!" I said.

A small green dragon came peering from behind the corner.

"You sure about that Wrye?" Etemir said. She's just a wrymling so she can't exactly say my name right, and I don't blame her. I squatted down just to about her height. I patted her on the head.

"I'm not a dog!" She giggled. I laughed.

"No you aren't or else you'd be my lunch! Listen Etemir, I'm going to be gone for a while, so I need to watch over Daddy, Okay?"

She nodded. "I can do that!" She said with a proud voice and wandered off again, probably to the kitchens to steal jelly tarts.
