The Date was, August 14th 1993
Madison, Madison B. Alter. She was 15 when she died, that's why we're all gathered here today, to remember her. Though for many, were very few. Madison was that type of girl, the strange one, who no one talks to, who is not noticed in school. She's the type who keeps to herself. No one even knew she was there, until the day she died. After that day, if you didn't know who Madison B. Alter was, you weren't talked to, or looked at by ANYONE in the school. No matter where you came from.
At this day, Madison would be 19 years old. She was a very smart young girl, that if you knew her you would wonder why people weren't her friends. You know how in high schools, the only way to fit in was to have all the right clothes, make-up, and looks. And Madison, well she had this, all of this. She wasn't fat, or ugly, and she wasn't the poor, no make-up type. She had everything, the $200 outfits, the hair, the best purely good for your skin amazing looking make-up, and she had the body too, you know that sports body? Where she wasn't fat, or to skinny, the one all the guys want!
Well Madison had been caught looking at Dan Mailer, the day before she died. Dan was the hot guy, you know the one with Blonde hair, Baby blue eyes, the face of an angel. The girls were always all over him, but Madison, had acted like he didn't exist, even though she was obviously the one of his dreams, he always talked about her, and no one knew who this girl was. They thought she went to a different school, or was even just a girl in his dreams. But no, she was there in our school. And we didn't know until the terrible day, she died.
Madison's parents were not around, they had died when she was 7, in a terrible car crash. She lived with her grandmother for the next 5 years until her grandmother passed, at age 12, after that she lived alone she had a lot of money from family, and her parents and grandparents. Though Madison had a lot of money, and everything she wanted, she hadn't had a very good childhood, and who would know that's all she would have to live. She had no friends, and no family she knew. She was alone. She seemed to not mind this at school, and she never complained about her life, or anything that had happened in it. Little did we know, her life was about to be over.
August 14th 1993, she was found in a closet in the school, with red, blood stained clothes, and sneaker laces tied around her neck. Its been 4 years sense this day, and there hasn't been a day yet, where we don't remember her, she was a member of our school, who most believe still haunt the halls, waiting to find the person who did this to her.
As you walk thru the halls, a lot of people have said they thought they were being followed, or something was breathing on them. As you look on the walls, there will be pictures of things, like shoes, or books, and knifes, that no one saw the day before, and then you go back to show your friends and there not there. People will always believe you, because it has happened to almost everyone in our school. We think that there signs from Madison, some are about the school on fire, and most of us dying, or some are about a few kids playing in the nice warm summer sun. Its like she can't make up her mind, or she has different plans about what will happen to all of us. Madison has always made one person stick out though, the one who killed her, and ended her life once and for all.

This morning, I wake up and get dressed. Rushing out the door like every other day, the clock reads 5:57 I have to make it to the bus by 6:06 which is 2 miles away. I run out the door stupidly forgetting my laptop. I run as fast as I can hoping the bus is for some reason late today. I stop about 20 feet away from the bus stop, and check the time its 6:08, and the bus still isn't here. I say to myself well you were luck, this time. Knowing that if it happened again I would for sure miss the bus.
When the bus finally gets here, we all pile on like wild pigs that don't know what they are doing. Pushing, and shoving each other to try to be first on! This day seem just as every other has the last 2 weeks: Boring, hard, tiring, long, and most of all STUPID. Our school can't seem to decide on anything lately, like what colors to paint the walls, what type of dance to have, what time to get out, how many kids per class. I mean everything to them is a huge deal, and the people in charge of student council are only in it because they are the most popular people in the school, and think that this will help them remain in control of the spot. Little do they know with now being in high school, none of this matters anymore. Theres no more fooling around with leading your class. Its not most popular we need, its who is actually going to do the job, and do it right!
Today just seems to get worse, were stuck in a code red for 4 hours, all curled up behind a book case in our science class, because of a death threat in the blue hallway. No one knows where it came from. Written on the wall of the wing was "I will kill you. Your lucky if you make it past freshman year. You will be dead. Im not messing around anymore, Beware." The hall way cameras were checked, and then an assembly was called in the gym to solve this. They said, "Absolutly no one was in the hallway when this was written." We laughed, and made fun and replied then who wrote it? I ghost? Next the principle replied "we checked all camera's near this and who ever wrote it could not be seen." We sat in shock wondering, are they trying to scare us? Or just messing around with us? Is there something there? Who was doing this? What is going to happen to the freshman? Was is an older kid trying to scare us? Do they do this every year? Whats going on!
We get out, and are told to report to our normal classes for the rest of the day. I leave this alone and try to focus on my work; but there is something about this, that I just can't forget!
