Chapter 2

         I was fast asleep when a scream cut through the air, I jolted upwards and looked around thinking someone was in my room but no one was. My bedroom doors flew open, Silver ran in and grabbed me and threw a coat on my shoulder "Find a pair of slippers and put them on! And quick we need to get out now!" Silver ran about grabbing a bag and stuffing some gowns and shoes along with ribbons and corsets. I was barely registering what was going on, I grabbed a pair of white slippers and put them on, Silver grabbed my hand and slung the bag over her shoulder and ran out my bedroom door. We were sprinting down the hall to the staircase, when bullets wizzed past our heads making Silver run faster while holding my hand causing me to nearly miss falling on my face, I tried to keep my head down so I didn't get hit but it was hard.

        Everything was a blur as we ran, the bullets zinged past us into the walls and floor but never hit me or Silver, I began to smell smoke as we ran past a room. Suddenly it hit me, Where were Mother and Father?! I began to worry if they were alright or not. We reached the staircase at last, Silver began to bolt toward the kitchen to reach the door there. As we reached the door, an explosion happened right behind us, Silver lifted me up and ran toward the woods. We reached the woods, and Silver set me down and looked me in the eye "Dear, I want you to run as far and fast as possible! Get to the church and tell the priestess what happened, I'll be waiting at the cafe down the street from the church for you. Got it?" I nodded unable to comprehend what was happening.

         Panting, I reached the church door, I pushed open the doors and looked around for the priest. "Hello?" My voice echoed through the church, a figure walked out from somewhere. The Priestess began to walk toward me with a lantern in her hand, "Little Girl, what are you doing here so late at night?" She questioned as she knelt in front of me. Shaking, I grabbed her hand "Mother, someone has attacked the manor I live in and my maid, Silver, said to come and talk to you! Mother and Father are still at home!" Tears began to stream down my face as I spoke. The Priestess gasped, "Dear, can you tell me where you live?" I nodded and explained where I lived to the Priestess, she stood and took my hand leading me somewhere "My name is Arcelta. What is your names, darling?" She looked me in the eye, with a soft smile in her face. 

      "M-My name is Keiko Najamur Bishop." I wiped at my tears, I wanted to know if Mother and Father were okay. The Priestess sighed and swished the lantern toward the darkness, right to something hiding in the shadows. "I see, you must be the daughter to the King and Queen of Sepheria. Do you have anyone that you could go to?" I nodded, "My maid, Silver, said she would wait for me by the café down the street from this church." The Priestess looked down at me with a soft smile, "Alright, I will take you to her and let her explain what is happpening, Dear Princess." I smiled whenever she called me Dear.

         I shivered from the wind, I was looking around for Silver and spotted her sitting at a table with a man. I ran over to her "Silver!" She stood up and hugged me tightly, she spotted the priestess behind me. Silver dipped into a curtsy, "Priestess, I need your help with a problem only a holy person could help." The Priestess nodded, I looked at the man that was sitting at the table and noticed that the man was my Fathers personal Butler, Nikola Merandez. He stood up, Sliver was explains what had happened at the Manor. The Priestess shook her head, "I will go there but I will need for you to come along." Silver nodded "Nikola, please take My Lady to safety and then contact the authorities and the firemen." She stated, turning toward me and Nikola. Nikola nodded and held out his hand, I took it and Silver handed my bag to him, "I will, Silver. When I contact the authorities, I will try and get word to you where My Lady is." Silver nodded and watched me and Nikola walk away.

      Nikola brought me to his and his wife's house, he unlocked the door and a lamp was lit when we walked through, revealing Nikola's wife, Shitra Hermona Merandez, my mother's personal maid. She was a beautiful women of only 5" 2', she was my nanny and took care of me when I was sick and Silver couldn't. "Why are you back home so late!? And why is Princess Keiko here with you?" Shitra questioned, worry laced her tone. "Something happened at the manor tonight, Silver wanted me to take her somewhere safe. Our home is a safe place for her to stay for now, Sweetheart." Shitra nodded and looked at me, Shitra smiled at me as if I were her child. I had always felt loved by both Shitra and Nikola. 

     Shitra brought me to the room they kept for me here, lighting the candles so the room had light and she tucked me in. Nikola brought my bag in and set it down by the closet. A knock sounded from outside the room, Nikola went to see who was knocking with Shitra behind him. I heard arguing from behind the door, then footsteps heading toward the room I was in, fear was beginning to tighten my stomach. There was a scream then a loud thud, Shitra threw the door open and grabbed me breaking the window and jumping out with me. We ran for several miles, I began growing tired. I began to doze off as Shitra continued to run, the last thing I remember was a man as I passed out.
