'Last 5 reps.. 4, 3, 2, 1 anddd we are done. See that wasn't too bad' 'Ha, speak for yourself you're just wondering around shouting at me. This is tough!' Lando laughed whilst wiping his forehead free of some droplets of sweat. 'Yeah, and that's why you're in the car and I'm not' Emily exclaimed whilst going to pick up some mats from the corner of the room. 'Oh here we go' Jon rolled his eyes. 'Wait what ?' Lando looked confused. 'Its her thing, I warned you mate, she's one of those yoga people' Jon explained. 'Okay, enough you. Lando that's your mat, just copy me.' Lando had never done yoga before. F1 racing was very intense, high speed and all or nothing he always thought of yoga being too boring and slow. Jon decided to head back to the room to get a power nap before the evening. 'Right, now he's gone we can actually focus. I know when you start it does feel really stupid and dumb but I think its so important to be able to slow down, focus on yourself and kind of just check in with your body. And then if you find anywhere pulls more than it should or doesn't feel comfortable then let me know as it might just be your body trying to highlight where it needs more attention' Lando was listening, well trying to at least. Looking at her explain something she was so passionate about just filled him with joy. He felt rather privileged that she was able to share this with him and unlike Jon, wanted to embrace that and put his trust in her.
It took a few minutes to get going, to be able to find that peace and find flow in his movements but slowly Lando was getting the hang of it. 'And from there we push up into cobra' Lando looked over to see what Emily was explaining and just froze for a moment. Firstly shocked at how on earth she was able to bend that way and also how on earth she expected him to be able to copy. But also at how elegantly and smoothly she was able to move with her cute ponytail swooshing around as she moved. 'Just do what you can Lando, it takes practice' He smiled at her words of encouragement and sure enough managed to give it a go. Definitely not quite as well but it was a good attempt. Their yoga routine came to an end and Emily was eager to know what he thought. 'I feel really light? I know that sounds so dumb but I don't know. I didn't realise I was quite tight and its really helped loosen up abit. Especially my hip as Jon mentioned' Emily was so happy that Lando was now a lot more comfortable in her presence and was able to trust her and open up. 'Yeah you guys mentioned. We can defo focus on that with some stretches and sports massage. You also mentioned that knot in your shoulder but I think its enough for one day. Maybe grab a tennis ball and gently roll against it on the wall to loosen it up abit. Anyway, we best head off, team dinner and I hear its going to be good!'
They jumped up and put the equipment they used in the hotel gym back away. Emily reached up onto her tiptoes trying to put the yoga mats back where she found them but lost her balance from the bench she stood up on. Loosing her balance she fell down and it felt like minutes, waiting and trying to quickly brace herself for the fall but she was shocked when not greeted by a painful thud to the ground. Quickly opening her eyes she was met inches away from Landos who caught her. Emily felt that warm fuzzy feeling return in her chest as she was cradled in his arms. Lando looked at her chucking, 'Honestly what is it with your family. I'll be kicked from the team if the two of you end up in casts with broken bones! You need to be careful, we need to keep you in one piece. They giggled trying to take in the events of the last few moments and Emily's heart still going crazy from the shock. Lando carefully placed her back down so her feet met the floor. 'Thanks Lando' she smiled warmly whilst brushing away a stray piece of hair.
Back in her hotel room Emily had just showered and washed her hair ready for this evening. She was slightly irritated that Jon told her she only needed training kit and the McLaren kit she would be provided with, sure she also had jeans and more causal day clothes for the later evenings anyways but no team meal was ever mentioned! Luckily Emily was able to meet the two media girls on their cycle earlier and they said they had her covered (literally) and would bring some outfits to her room as they always overpacked anyways. So not knowing what they would turn up with she sat by the dresser in her room applying a natural makeup look. Not long after there was a knock at the door with Gemma and Claire looking lovely all dressed up. 'Okay, so... we have a few options! Usually its smart casual as it's a team tradition that majority of race weekends we go out for dinner on Thursday evening, hire out nearly all a local restaurant and just have abit of fun before going race mode. Plus everyone's just so focused and then exhausted by the end of the week. So, Claire, show her what we have!'
