"Our holders are fucking dumb."
Yoongi and Jin chat in a tiny cafe on the outskirts of the guardian town. They usually come here to relieve stress. The guardian world isn't much different from the human world, especially at a glance. People still eat food, pee, poop, and breathe oxygen.
And trash talk their holders.
Jin wipes his mouth before replying, "Take it easy on them! They're just kids."
"Dumb kids. Very dumb kids."
To them, anyone under 100 years of age are kids, as guardians typically stop aging very young.
"You have to admit that they're adorable, though," Jin says, sporting a fond smile.
Yoongi makes a gagging motion while sipping coffee, "They're so in love with each other and they don't even know it."
"They're made for each other!" Jin gushes, "Jisoo is slow to trust, but when she does, she puts her all into it. Taehyung is naive and sometimes trusts too easily, but he's kind, just like Jisoo."
"Yeah yeah, they're like soulmates or whatever."
"Taehyung cares too much about what other people think, but it allows him to be good at understanding others, although he lets them sway his decision making."
"You got that right," Yoongi comments, "He's always trying to buy the most expensive clothes, even though he only wears them like, once a month."
Jin giggles and continues with his analysis, "On the other hand, Jisoo is stubborn and has always fought for what she thought was right since she was a kid—regardless of what people think. They compliment each other really well."
"They do. I'm just annoyed at how lovesick my guy is," Yoongi sighs in exasperation. "Get this. He searches up medical information to impress Jisoo with."
Jin's squeaky laughter roars throughout the bustling cafe, "No way! Sometimes, I catch Jisoo practicing what to say to V in front of the mirror!"
Yoongi offers a chuckle of his own, "Isn't it funny how they like the more flawed side of each other?"
"What do you mean by that?" Jin tilts his head.
"Like, Jisoo likes V, who is clumsy and can't figure out what to do in missions for the life of him," Yoongi explains as Jin laughs, "While Tae likes Jisoo, who can barely express her emotions and tends to be misunderstood."
Jin nods, taking in the information with another sip of coffee.
"Wow, that's actually really perceptive of you," Jin says, impressed. "I wonder why they didn't start liking the more—" He makes air quotes, "—perfect side of each other."
Yoongi leans back in his chair, thinking hard. Jin also ponders it.
Taehyung and V are the same person, so it's no question that they share the same traits, those traits being the ones Jisoo finds attractive. Taehyung can show off his friendly and sociable side but as V, not so much.
It would make more sense for Jisoo to have started developing feelings for Taehyung instead of V.
Meanwhile, Jisoo becomes kinder and more open as RC. As Jisoo, she's blunt, occasionally rude, and horrible at saying what she means. RC was also like that at first, but her badass ways and heroic actions make up for it.
In theory, that should make RC more attractive, but Taehyung likes Jisoo.
"I got it," Yoongi announces breathlessly after a moment.
"What? What is it?"
"Taehyung thinks that RC dislikes Jisoo, which makes RC less likeable, even though she's Jisoo. On top of that, Taehyung feels intimidated by the fact that RC is better than him when it comes to missions."
"Oh my gosh, that makes so much sense," Jin starts, before having an epiphany himself, "And Jisoo is too scared to open up to Taehyung because one of them isn't masked. She's opened up to V, but not Tae. She trusts V more. Then, we also have the fact that she is too blinded by her judgement that because Taehyung has a lot of friends, she isn't special to him."
The two best friends take in the information for a bit. The loud sounds of chatter and the aroma of coffee do not distract them as they internalize the conversation.
"Damn." Yoongi leans back, eyes still wide from the revelations. The pair of guardians sigh and shake their heads in a mixture of endearment and exasperation.
"Our holders are fucking dumb."
This time, it's Jin who says it.
