An egg that was almost the size of my head weighed roughly fifteen pounds but felt like nothing as I ran at full speed with it tucked under one arm. The massive beast that laid this giant egg was currently twenty yards behind me also running at full tilt. However, these creatures could only run at around fifteen miles per hour while my sprint in a straight line was closer to thirty.

The mother was an eight-foot tall giant reptile running on four tree-trunk like legs ending in long, curving clawed elephant feet. She was almost twenty feet long without her twelve-foot tail thanks to her sinuous serpentine neck that ended in a long triangle-like head similar to a lizard's.

Unlike most lizards, though, the creature's tail ended in a large pad from which grew an equally large and worn spearhead of keratin.

On her back were sets of broad keratin plates that allowed their body to both undulate and slither, increasing the usually low mobility of an armored reptile both on land and in water. Through the wickedly intense evolution that had created this monster, the large pad growing their spearhead doubled as a sensory organ that picked up sound vibrations as well as low-powered electrical signals.

Like a stingray.

Somehow, these creatures laid eggs in similar fashion to chickens in that they laid around once a week even though the males of their species were only in season twice a year. However, each female would have a harem of several males born at different times of the year. This was an evolutionary habit to ensure the continuation of their species. Even these guys had natural predators.

Escaping the enraged female 'armisaur' was relatively easy, they were mostly scavengers and fishers if they were not eating whatever failed to eat them or their eggs. Without being a pursuit predator, it was nearly impossible to catch me unless it was by surprise. After spending two years in this hellish land, though, it was hard to even catch me that way.

After those few minutes of running and winding through sky-scraping jungle trees, I was able to slow down and start taking a roundabout route back home. My home, recently, was among the root walls of a giant evergreen tree out of sight and reach of most creatures. Before, I literally lived under a rock.

Sadly, that spacious hole under the rock was taken over by a large group of rodents who were the size of bears. I could have killed them with only a few injuries if I used proper weapons. However, killing them all at once would have been wasteful when I could easily farm them from their new cave home over time.

Two years ago, I was in eighth grade going to and complaining about school like any normal person. Then, one night, I went to sleep expecting to wake up for exams in school only to find myself and millions of other people piled together in a world of pure light. I literally woke up and thought I was about to meat God.

What everyone was soon greeted by might as well have been a god itself, but they were definitely not the God I was thinking of.

Like the concept of 'God', this entity was not a physical being but simply a voice that deafened reality itself as it said hello. The voice went on to give a lengthy description of what had happened to us as well as what would continue to happen. First, everybody on the planet was 'killed off'.

Second, everybody was then turned into pure energy while everybody under the age of thirteen and over the age of forty were simply 'removed'. Third, Earth was completely flattened and everything left on it died. The voice even made a cruel point of informing the world, "To any of you with puppies and kittens, you have my condolences. They're dead now."

Following this was a brief explanation and some lengthy math about how they reshaped the planet by making it bigger which changed everything from lowering gravity to making our days six hours longer. Something vaguely referred to as the Primordial Cells were then introduced to our barren world.

Then the voice informed us that during the time it took to tell us all of this they had aged our planet by more than ten thousand years.

On top of everything they did to Earth they started boasting about creating new bodies for us. Without a lowered gravity we would still be ten times stronger than before. Even our skin was tougher, literally being called 'resistant to your crude projectile weapons of the past'.

Throughout all of the voice's lectures and explanations there were people screaming and crying, human voices begging for their family and friends or swearing at the voice in confused fury. Personally, I cried my fourteen-year-old eyes out in loneliness because I was an only child and both of my parents had been on the older side when they had me. Neither of them were here in the light with me.

Finally, the voice started coming to a close with the words, "Since I'm sure some of you are wondering why something like this is happening, I'll let you know before I let you go. To begin with, we made your entire solar system since before there was a star here so we, basically, made you. The evolution of your planet and its species was originally a source of entertainment for the immortal races of the galaxy but in the recent hundred years we've been getting bored of your cold wars and petty politics.

"Now, we've decided to step in and make some changes to keep the interest in your planet going. Instead of a biology documentary you're all now going to be a survival action-drama, so don't disappoint us or we'll just come in and scrap the entire solar system to fund a more promising project. Now, get out there and give us some good footage of noobs getting wrecked."
