Dalilah sat up silently, letting her sweater fall down her shoulder as well as her pale blonde hair.
She groaned and rubbed her eyes, then met a lazy gaze at emblem.
"Thank you... that was the longest i've slept these past few years."
Her words were soft and had a little scratchy noise to it but it was cute in a way.
"Would you like something to eat? I've got toast and maybe cereal somewhere if you're hungry." Emblem smiled weakly and his eyebrows furrowed at the sad gleam forming in her eye. He remembered what she told him about her parents and it made his mind swirl angrily. She's such a kind soul, why should anyone deserve to be treated that way? He thought.
Soon dalilah gathered herself together and stood up, the only thing they could hear was the deafening sound of her chained ankles.
Walking over to the toast he had just prepared, she began to poke it, wincing at the piece of bread.
" It doesn't look very safe to eat..."
She wrinkled her nose and looked at him holding the toast with only two fingers like it was an abomination to the world. He looked at her with a confused look, frowning slightly.
"Dalilah. It can't hurt you. You need to eat, okay? Please?" He said in a soft but stern voice, hoping she'd listen to him. He placed his hand on the counter, giving her the "go ahead" look.
She studied his posture then began to laugh. Harder than she's ever really laughed before.
"You look like my mother!" she exclaimed, grabbing the sides on her stomach. Emblem looked at her with a raised eyebrow, before joining into her contagious laughter.
"You need to eat, though!" He said between chuckles, after he calmed down slowly.
After she finished laughing she wiped the tears from her eyes and began nibbling at the piece of toast.
It wasn't good... but it wasn't bad either. She was just glad that he cared about her health, almost made her feel overjoyed.
He stared at her ability to eat longingly, he hadn't had such privileges in years. Ever since that day, the one that took everything from him, such luxuries weren't accessible. He swatted away his thoughts, this was not the time to feel pity towards himself.
"So, I have a job today. You can either come with or stay here, but I've got to get it done either way. It's a pretty long walk, so if you aren't prepared for it, don't go." He looked away quickly, hoping that she wouldn't ask any questions.
Seeing that he was uncomfortable she nodded and finished her toast.
" I'll go. I don't like to be alone anyways." she chuckled and looked down at her feet with a half heart smile. " It gets dark in a couple of hours....."
Brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, she began to go into deep thought. Thoughts about the overbearing dark and how it never seemed to work out quite well for her.
Dalilah winced as she was pulled into a flashback from months before.
"Oi! Blondie come over here and guide blind girls hands." Scoffed one of javs men.
Dalilah stood from her desolate corner and stumbled over to the horrid man. His name was Hashtay, he was a rather young and well built man. His arms were properly chiseled, and bulged out of the hems of his t-shirt sleeves. He had broad shoulders, even though he was just a few years above twenty. His figure seemed to shadow over her, as she was very petit. Despite looking charming from a distance, he wasn't nice in the slightest. He was just like every ape of a man that inhabited the place, selfish and horny.
