At first I thought it's just my cat Nerri, but when I heard a gun shot my world fall....
I saw a person holding a gun and in
front of her is my poor dad...
"Daddy..." that's the only word that came out of my mouth.
The person who's holding the gun turned slightly to my side and after that he suddenly disappeared.
When I'm back in my senses, I approached Dad and touched the part with the gunshot wound.
"Da-daddy are you okay?" I said while crying
"Sh-shh Lis don't cry baby I'm fine" Daddy said does words to me even though he's having a hard time, enduring the pain from the gunshot.
After saying those words he was slowly closing his eyes,while I'm crying so bad.
"Daddy please.... Don't close your eyes please.... The ambulance is almost there Daddy please..." I repeatedly saying those words to him, begging not to close his eyes.
But my beg did nothing, because daddy could no longer open his eyes.
After a few minutes I was still crying when I heard the ambulance siren.
When we went out of the ambulance Daddy was directed to the Operating Room (OR) because he had lost a lot of blood.
I was still crying outside the OR when someone suddenly hugged me from the front. When I saw his face I cried even more.
When Nolan noticed that I cried even more because of his presence he tightened his grip on me even more.
He did not speak but he just continued to hug me and caressed my back to calm me down.
"Thank you Nolan.." I said those words while crying
"Sorry Lis, wala akong nagawa.." he said
I didn't speak because I can no longer speak and I am also tired from crying. I just want to sleep and wish that I had my nightmare. My worst nightmare.
But before I could close my eyes Nolan said something that I did not understand much, because it's just like a whisper....
I just woke up lying on my bed, at first I thought it was just a bad dream but when I saw Nolan on the balcony and
he seemed out of place. My heart skipped a beat.
Nagmadali akong tumakbo papalapit kay Nolan.
When I'm just about to open the glass door of the balcony, I heard Nolan talking someone on the phone.
"You will pay for what you have done!" Pagkatapos niyang sabihin ang mga salitang iyon ay namatay na ang tawag.
He saw me standing beside the balcony's door. I saw that he was surprised by my presence but he also recovered quickly and smiled at me like nothing's happen.
"Gising kana pala Lis, gutom kana ba?" Nolan asked as he approached me, and kiss me on the forehead while waiting on my answer.
"No." I said
Tinignan ko si Nolan ng diretso at unti-unting tinaggal ang pagkakayakap niya sa akin.
"Nolan where's Daddy?" I asked while holding back my tears.
"Lis, let's eat first." he said firmly
"Nolan, where's Daddy?" I asked again but this time my tears fell.
"Shh, Lis your daddy is in the hospital, he's fine but..." Nolan stop speaking, but I'm sure that there is another reason that Daddy is not okay yet.
"Nolan please, tell me what happened to Daddy..." I pleaded
"Lis, your dad is in a comatose condition." as nolan says those words to me there is a concern in his voice.
After hearing what Nolan says, my world turn upside down. I feel like I'm a sea that is slowly drying up.
"What did the doctor say? Will he wake up?" I asked
"Lis, the truth is there is no certainty that your daddy will wake up, and it's just a machine that makes your Daddy live, it's just a miracle that need Lis. It's just a miracle if your daddy wakes up..." Nolan said
"No.. that's not true Nolan, no..."
I just cried and cried in Nolan's arms until I calmed down and decided to go to the hospital.
Habang nagmamaneho si Nolan ay nakatulala lang ako sa labas ng bintana, inaaliw ang sarili sa mga sasakyang dumadaan. Pagod nakong umiyak, natuyo na yata yung luha ko kaya wala na akong maiyak pa.
When we arrived at the hospital, I immediately ran to my Daddy's room.
I saw daddy lying in the hospital bedp and many hoses were stuck in his arm and he was also surrounded by various machines, which is the reason why daddy is still alive.
Lumapit agad ako kay Dad at hinawakan ang kaniyang kamay.
"Dad, gumising kana please..." I said while crying.
"Hahanapin natin kung sinong gumawa nito sayo Dad... At kung bakit niya ginawa sayo yon.."
"Dad....."
I just crying next to Daddy and kept waking him up.
After a few hours of crying, Nolan entered my Daddy's room.
"Lis, let's eat first or you might get sick." Nolan said
I just nodded at him and said to him that he can just wait for me outside.
"Daddy, I promise na hahanapin ko ang may gawa niyan sayo." after that I kiss his forehead.
Pagkalabas ko ng kwarto ni Daddy ay nakita ko agad si Nolan na naka tingala sa kisame habang matiyaga na naghihintay sa akin.
"Nolan, let's go."
He just nodded and wrapped his hand around my waist.....
