KABANATA DOS

-AFTER 5 YEARS-

"Ma'am, Mr. Zaveri is here po" said my secretary

"Let him in Tasha" after that I continued my work

"Thank you Tasha." Said Nolan

Pagkasara ng pinto ay naupo agad si Nolan sa aking harapan.

Tinitigan ko lamang siya ng masama. Ngunit nginitian niya lamang ako at umikot upang ako ay lapitan.

"What?" he asked while smiling

"Why are you here Nolan? It's only 11 am you still have work!" I said while glaring at him

"Nah, I don't have work it's my lunch break." he replied while smiling at me

"Liar, your lunch break is 2 pm it's still early Nolan."

"No, I change it..." he replied and the smile widened even more

"You freak!"

He just laughed at me. When I'm about to throw a pen at him, he hugged me tight.

We talked for a while about the few cases he handled and about the company.

After that we  agreed to just eat at my office, because I had more work to do. So that I can finish my work while waiting in our food.

While I was busy working, Nolan was busy reading the minor case's he's holding.

After a few minutes of silence Nolan looked at me, and he speak, tuluyan ng nasira ang katahimkan.

"Lis, bakit ayaw mo bang ituloy yung kaso ng Daddy mo?" At his question my heart skipped a beat. But I recovered quickly. I flashed a smile so that he can't see that I'm hiding something to him.

"Nolan, we talked about this already diba?" I said while doing my work.

"Yes, pero Lis kailangan pagbayaran nung taong yon ang ginawa niya sa Daddy mo." Nolan said

"It's fine, Nolan."

"No, It's not fine with me. Ako naman ang hahawak sa kaso ng Daddy mo Lis. Sinisigurado ko sayo na mahuhuli natin ang salarin." he said with determination in his eyes

I just smile at him. And continued my work.

"Please, Calista pumayag kana, na buksan ulit yung kaso." Nolan pleaded

"Nolan, I already told you that I want a peaceful life. I'm fine, okay? So don't worry." I said

He didn't speak anymore so I changed the topic of what we were talking about.

He replied to my questions but I know he's still worried about me and he is still determined to open my daddy's case.

If possible, I always interrupt the conversation when it comes to my Daddy's case because I find it difficult to lie especially to him...

Five years ago but Daddy was still in  comatose and had no improvement. I did not finish my Law course and just continued running my Daddy's company.

I did not continue the investigation with the police and did my own investigation. I paid agents to make sure that the culprit could not escape.

While Nolan is a Lawyer now and owns a law firm, I did not tell him that I continued my father's case, not because I did not trust him, but because I wanted to know who did it by myself. And also I want to know the mystery behind that incident.

Who is the culprit? And what is he/she's motive....
