Chapter 1

Avery was born on Augest 10th 3083. It was quite special to her for Augest 10th is a day she could look forward to. Her mother the current queen Rosemary banished her from ever leaving the castle. It was quite understandable. She was different and different wasn't allowed.

With a sigh, Avery got up from bed. It took a lot now a days. She couldn't be bothered to shower or change or even brush her long ebony hair. She wanted to cut it but wouldn't dare ask her mother.

As Avery moped around on her way to the bell to ask the maid for a glass of water she heard some screams. Her people were at war for the past 17 years. Ever since she was born pretty much.

Must be another raid. She thought to herself running towards the window and pushing away the blinds.

There was smoke and fire and as a young couple ran away from a group of soldiers. Most of the northern part of the kingdom seemed to be engulfed in flame. Her eyes caught to one soldier. They seemed to have stopped chasing the couple and walk towards the castle. The guard sat down on the grass and it was quite obvious it was sighing.

Avery wanted to stare forever when her mother walked in.

"Dear, your dad is gone to fight would you like to spend some time with me?"

Avery wanted to continue staring at the soldier. It wasn't like one to drop its task for a break but she couldn't make her mother upset as this was the first time in years that she has bothered with her. So she nodded and followed her mother downstairs.

Avery sat down at the long dinner table. Her mother sat across from her smiling.

"Avery in 3 years you will be 20 correct?"

Avery just nodded bored already.

"Well I got a special surprise for all the birthdays I missed!" Her mother pulled out a box and passed it to her. The box was a light blue with little white hearts scattered around it with a white bow on top.

"Thanks." Avery smiled a little bit. She reached over and opened the box to see a piece of paper. She picked it up and started reading it.

Hello. This is your mother Rosemary. Me and your father will be gone to try and make peace, so we wanted to say you are allowed to leave the castle and explore your soon to be home! Happy birthday.

Avery started smiling a lot. She was going to get to explore the kingdom! She rushed over to her mom and hugged her and then ran up the stairs to her room.

She jumped onto her bed then remembered the soldier and ran to the window.

The soldier wasn't there anymore but instead a beautiful blond was there. Beside her was a helmet. The soldiers helmet. Avery put two and two together and realized that the blond was the soldier.

At that moment Avery felt something she had only felt once before. If felt sharp but nice. Like a hug. You wanted it to stab you. If felt like millions of butterflies in her stomach. She was smiling without realizing. She was turning a light shade of pink like the rose's surrounding the girl. She wanted that girl to hug her, she wanted that girl to be with her. She wanted to laugh with that girl, eat with that girl, kiss that girl, and just like how fast her emotions had bubbled the girls head turned towards her.

I made this at 12 am to 1 am so please don't expect the rest of the chapters to be this bad. I promise it will get better. Also Avory sounds like a Emily at the beginning sorry for that. (Also sorry anyone named Emily). No her mother isn't abusive I guess. Just neglectful. Anyway there's gonna be an art and information book for if you need information on the characters, species or just want to see my ugly drawings. Anyway have a nice day or night
