Heather's POV
"Heather! Hunny, would you come down to the kitchen please!"
Sighing, I close my sketchpad and place it into my desk draw, locking it shut. Standing up, I slip on my slippers, grabbing my phone and walk out of my bedroom.
"I'm coming!" I shout back.
I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen where I find my aunt and uncle who are sitting at the island, munching on a plate of my aunts freshly baked cookies.
"You called me?" I state, taking a seat next to my aunt Josie.
"Yes. We just wanted to have a quick chat about your next upcoming race," My uncle Joey begins as he wipes away some stray crumbs off his shirt.
I nod my head for him to continue, "As you know, this next race is against Kings Slayer and he is the best racer in his age group. He has managed to get away with manslaughter in very few races, and seeing as it is illegal racing, he can't get charged. So we just want to make sure that you will be safe on the track and if you'd need any sort of special equipment at all?"
I take in his mini speech and think about the car I'd be using. I could do with some upgrades.
"I could do with having a new booster replaced in my Lamborghini, the current one is almost dead," I say while getting up a picture on my phone.
"Ah, yes. That's going to need to be replaced. I'll call Sam and get him to order one in. Is that it?" My uncle asks.
"Yep, that's it. Thanks," I smile.
"Okay then, off you go," He replies.
I give them both a quick kiss on the cheek and take a cookie upstairs with me, back to my bedroom.
You're all probably really confused right now. Well let me introduce myself. My name is Heather Hope and I'm sixteen years old. I'm a famous street racer and cars are basically my life. They're my air. My mother and father had left me on my aunt and uncles doorstep when I was only five, taking my twin brother, James, with them to wherever they were going to.
My aunt and uncle had lost all contact with them and none of us knew where they were or why they left, and didn't bother to take me with them. We spent years searching for any trace to find them, but we just gave up and that was when my aunt Josie decided to become my mother figure, and my uncle Joey as my father figure.
I guess you could say that I've had a rough start in life. I knew that my mother and father couldn't afford to look after me and James that much, and that's one of the reasons why I think they left me..
Anyways! Getting off the sappy stuff, my aunt and uncle, who are former street racers, brought me up all around cars and racing. I learned to drive when I was 10 and I got my licence when I was 13. My favourite colour is teal, and my favourite animals are a horse and a chameleon. I have a dog called Cece and a fish named Bob.
Such an interesting name for a fish.
I won Bob at a fair and my uncle Joey and I had rescued Cece from an abusive farmer, along with a horse called Alysa. Alysa passed away from the huge amount of beatings she had received in the past, but luckily Cece lived and made a fantastic recovery.
I have a lot of hobbies too, any type of sport; art, baking, boxing, workouts and racing. They're my main hobbies and they mean so much to me. Just like racing. They're my life, my escape.
"Heather! Sam has ordered you a booster!" I hear my aunt call up.
"Okay! Thank you!" I shout back.
Sam is a friend of my uncles and he provides all the engine parts I need for my racing.
Flopping down on my bed, I unlock my phone and go onto Twitter, my Secret Scarlet account. Secret Scarlet is my show name for racing and any other competitions I do involving a mask and contacts. So far in racing everybody knows me as Scarlet, and people started calling me Secret Scarlet because I hide my face with a mask.
That's basically it.
@SecretScarlet Good afternoon guys! I'm doing a following spree tonight at eight o'clock sharp so make sure you're online then! Tweet #SSFS and a question to me and 100 of you will get follow! Rules are simple. :)
I tweet my status and plug my phone on to charge. After tying my long brown hair into a ponytail, I grab out my sketchpad that I had put away earlier.
I guess you could say that I'm an art freak. I love drawing. Apart from racing, art is my favourite pass time or just a hobby really. I've been sketching a lot of different mythical creatures lately; mainly dragons. I've always been intrigued by them.
Right now I'm finishing off an old drawing of a black dragon with a white dragon. They're both curled up against each other, like the ying yang thingy.
I remember when I used to live with my parents. They'd always used to get me into the dragon stuff. It was a spirited family. Honestly though, I never really liked it. Sure, the dragons were interesting, but everything else was just boring.
I guess it just wasn't for me.
But I like my life now. Whether or not I have no mother or father, no siblings. It hasn't effected me. And I actually thank them; they've given me this life full of bright, exiting activities and wishes for the future.
I love living life now; as a racer.
My name is Heather Hope, and this is my life.
