I was walking down the sidewalk after school when all of a sudden, I heard the crunch crunch, crunch of footsteps walking behind me.
I glanced behind me. It was just a girl jogging behind me. I stepped out of her way and let her pass. She smiled at me as she kept jogging. She flashed her sharp fangs at me, kindly.Ok, I know that might sound a little weird to the average Joe, but for me, this is normal. You see, my town is not like many others. This is a town full of vampires (and humans who are willing to keep our secret). My name is Belinda. I am a 14-year-old girl vampire, but if you were to just look at me, you would tell me that I am crazy. I'm an African-American Native American born girl. My skin is the color of an almond and not the usual stark-white. I also have mesmerizing violet eyes. I have the speed of 5 cheetahs combined and the strength of 3 horses. I'm very tall for my age, 6ft 2in. My mother says that I am very pretty, with my long, flowing deep purple hair.
If you are wondering why I am even a vampire or why I have dark purple hair and violet eyes, it’s because every vampire is born with the 2-KV14 vampire gene and I inherited it from my mother (my father is human). I have violet eyes and purple hair because my great-grandmother blessed her first-born great-grand-daughter with dark-purple hair, and I’m it. If I have a son or daughter, they will inherit purple hair too. I can also walk out int the sun as long as I have a special ring on. Our town is separated from the humans. The only way humans can get in is if they see a vampire, and then they are captured and bought here for eternity to not risk them exposing us to the other humans. Ok, since I’ve given you my little biography, lets continue the story.
The girl speeded away, her brown hair flying behind her. She was probably chasing after a deer or something. It was a brisk, cool October day. It was quiet in my neighborhood like usual. But in the night, you can hear the sounds of animals and sometimes humans, being slaughtered. Hey, us vampires gotta eat, right?
We usually don't go out in the daytime unless the sun isn't out. As I walked into my house, I could hear Twilight blaring on the TV. My whole family (My mom, dad, and sister Bella) and I loved The Twilight Saga. My mom was cooking dinner (we still eat human food) as I stepped through the door.
“Hi, mom!”, I hollered as I entered the kitchen and sat at the table.
“Hey sweetie. Did you hear on the news that a human is on the loose, threatening to expose us to the other humans?”
“What?!”, I exclaimed.
I could feel my muscles bulgingand my incisors extending. I wanted to rip out that human’s throat! ( I technically could) We decide not to sacrifice you and this is how you repay us!
I blinked to the backyard, I was so angry! (blinking is when vampires “blink” somewhere when high emotions are triggered.) I kicked a tree, knocking it down and threw it across town. This happens often, so nobody really noticed.
“I have to do something about this wretched human!”, I thought.
I grabbed my iPhone from my pocket and called my BVFF (Best Vampire Friend Forever), Adrianna Vanstrom. We’ve known each other since we were 5 years old, surely she would feel the same way I did.

VampireThis is a short story I wrote a while ago about a town of vampires and what happens to humans who want to threaten them. It's actually pretty good and will make you laugh.
